Menopausal skin/spots

IthoughtIhadsciatica · 08/10/2023 01:08

I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer one month ago, and am effectively being put into medical menopause with the medication I am taking.

I have already broken out in spots along my jawline and along my chest, and my forehead is shiny/greasy and also spotty. Add in the hot flushes, and my skin is not happy!

Here's the challenge - I am usually extremely low maintenance. I genuinely mean soap and water in the shower, and nivea face cream This clearly isn't going to be enough to help my face now, and as silly as it is, this is really getting me down.

I would like recommendations of something that might help, so long as it's not too time-consuming/complicated a regime - I know I really won't stick to anything that involves combinations of multiple different complicated products, as that's just not what I'm used to.

But at the same time, I am happy to spend up to £100 to set up what is needed in the way of cleanser/toner/moisturiser/balm etc (I'm not even sure if these are the right type of products/names!)

All and any help, gratefully received - many thanks.

Buy some niacinamide from the ordinary and Clinique’s moisturising gel or jelly. Clinique have a pimple gel which is hugely effective.

CeraVe is really good for menopausal skin . There's a wash for troublesome skin.

I’d look at a Dermatica subscription, a very low dose of tretinoin with niacinamide and must include clindamycin, and then a basic cleanser and moisturiser, Cerave have good options.

Thank you all. I will have a look through these suggestions, and may be back for more help

Try this niacinamide serum

www.balanceactiveformula.com/

And the vitamin c serum is really good too.

I'd keep the skincare really simple while your skin settles down. These 2, 5 drops of olive oil. That's it at night.
