Do you have a Vinted process/ strategy?

Just sold a lot of things on Vinted. It was a good exercise, but did drive me a bit mad.

In the end I came up with a bit of a plan, but I am sure it can be improved. I am now in selling mode and will be further culling our stuff.

I posted the item, then if it hadn't sold in 7 days, I reduced it by 20-25%. Then I left it for 30 days, and if it didn't sell, I donated it to a charity shop.

I have summer things that haven't sold, so I may put it away until next Spring and try to resell it then.

Anyone got tips or ideas for better, sane selling on Vinted?

I normally give it a week then take it off and charity / recycle it! But I'm talking the odd thing rather than a big clear out. I don't want it hanging around my house or it'll get forgotten forever!

Sounds very sensible and similar to my own routine. Having just done my wardrobe switchover I’ve set aside a bag of summer stuff for selling but I won’t do it till around Easter next year - no point having things hang around for months especially as one of my buying strategies is to look at how long it’s been on for and make cheeky offers for stuff that’s been hanging around

Not really, but I only put things on indefinitely have no attachment to, and I sell my 'posh' stuff quite cheaply rather than risk someone deciding to raise an issue etc. So high end high street handbags I mark as good, price at £30-40 and take an offer to get rid of them. I have a nice out of stock Furla that I'm not sure what to do with as I know it won't sell on Vinted for what it is worth second hand.

^^ coach, Kate spade etc

That's interesting OneFrenchEgg.

I have a pair of designer shoes that have sat in my wardrobe for 10 years. I have worn them once. They originally cost hundreds, but I got them in a 70% off sale, as they were winter stock, and I lived on the Equator and no one was buying them. They have the designer label on the inside etc.

I tried to put them on Vinted, but was immediate stopped and asked for authenticity. I don't have the receipt, or the box so I can't. I didn't want that much money for them, around £30-40, and TBH even if they were plain, with no label, they are still worth that as the leather is gorgeous.

I was going to advertise them just as leather boots, but you can see the label.

They are sitting there, untouched, and not advertised as I don't know what to do.

I’ve just started selling a load of baby clothes and and maternity stuff. I’ve taken a similar approach although if it’s still not sold within 2 weeks it goes to charity but that’s mainly because I need the clear out the nursery asap. My maternity stuff is mainly winter stuff so I’m getting rid of that now and I’ll leave summer stuff for next year I think.

OneFrenchEgg · 05/10/2023 08:14

@EvergreenGoddess they have a list of things for authenticity so I always make sure I do as many as I can and then in the description include detail like 'bought in Trafford centre, no receipt as sat in wardrobe for about six years' but I do do as many photos as they say - lining, label, fastenings etc

OneFrenchEgg · 05/10/2023 08:14

I do worry about that a bit though so I always withdraw my balance at c £50 asap

If something doesn't sell and is cheap anyway I relist it as a bundle - like 2 shorts for £3
I price most things low anyway except where I know people will spend, like Popsy dresses
