Natural (ish) deodorants

Long story short I have really sensitive skin and a lot of deodorants bring me out in rashes, brands like Sure, Mitchum, Dove. Strangely, Nivea pearl and beauty is one of the few that I can tolerate. In the past I’ve tried Bionsen and Pit Rock but ended up a sweaty stinky mess.
For a few weeks I’ve switched to Wild deodorant as I used a promo - I can use their sensitive range as the bicarbonate in the normal range makes my skin break out in welts.
However, understandably, it’s not keeping me feeling very fresh and I feel like I smell after a few hours. I’m also not a huge fan of the stick/cream style application and feel constantly a bit sticky under my arms.
Are there any good natural alternatives I can try for sensitive skin, or any less chemical-filled “mainstream” ones that might bridge the gap, or should I persevere with the Wild stuff?

I've been using fussy for around 3 months. Took about a month to see a difference. One of my colleagues gave me a 50% code so it was worth trying for only £10 with the holder and two refills. If it would interest you to get the code, feel free to pm me.

Nuud. Marvellous stuff. You won't smell at all. My 16 year old uses it and has no BO and that's pretty impressive for a 16 year old boy.

I tend to pair with another natural deodorant so use nuud maybe twice a week and then something else on days I don't nuud. Awake Organics is my favourite, the Moon Goo is really good but the bicarb free ones are great too. The tubs last forever.

AKT - it’s a balm and I love it. One tube last 2-3 months. One application lasts all day. I won’t use anything else now.

I tried Wild and smelt like fried onions, I was stinking. I'm using Fussy now and love it, took a month to detox the aluminium out of my pits but now I don't smell at all. Think it has bicarb in it though.

Stupid expensive but salt and stone in the scent santal is utterly divine, never smelt anything like it, totally addictive actually!

Somethingweirdisgoingon · 04/10/2023 23:29

Sorry I should add it is excellent for sensitive skin and really works

SabbatWheel · 04/10/2023 23:34

I have used Fussy for three years now. Fresh scents and effective in a different way to traditional spray deodorants. You can choose how often to replace the sticks (I use about one in 5 weeks).

Green People.

This is exactly the smell! Lightly fried food by about 3pm!

I was just coming on here to start a thread about the same thing. Google tells me that there is no such thing as an antiperspirant that doesn’t contain aluminium, as it’s that particular ingredient that actually stops the sweating, so am I right in thinking then, that anything “natural” and without aluminium is just a deodorant and won’t stop sweating at all? I’m loathe to give my kids anything with aluminium in But the natural deodorants I’ve tried of course don’t stop the sweating in the slightest, and that’s all they’re bothered about

I loved the scents of Wild and it made me smell fresh but even the sensitive ones gave me a terrible rash. 🙁

I went back to the Forever living Aloe stick that I've used for the last 20 years. It's expensive but it lasts a long while and does the job. A box of 6 bars from Amazon costs about £40 and will last me and DH a couple of years.

I've use this for years. Lasts absolutely ages too.

Also prefer Fussy to Wild. Fussy do a range for sensitive skin.

Elsa's Organic - the deodorant cream is amazingly effective. Not cheap but works wonders.

Someone told me that you have to use the natural deodorants for a few weeks before they work properly. If you stink in the first few weeks it's just your body expelling all the crap blocked in by the old style deodorants. It worked for me. After a smelly week or so when I had to keep washing and reapplying I can now go the day absolutely fine.
