Hi,

Just this really. Hurtling towards 40 and feeling I need to up my skin care game a bit. Veery expensive though, so don't want to splurge if it's just a bit...meh.

Thank you 😊

I haven’t tried the Elizabeth Arden one but The Inkey list do a water cream which I really like.

My retinol is Tret from Skin&Me which has changed my face entirely.

@Lookingoutside I'm assuming you mean in a good way? 😂

I had a look at the inci lists for the EA water/retinol.

It doesn't say what % of retinol there is, and it comes very low on the ingredients list.
There's a lot written about the HPR though, and I have no idea about percentages or efficacy of that, as I can't really find much apart from what the EA press bods have released.

Reviews for it are very good.

It's got lots of very good ingredients in it- lots of peptides, lots of ceramides (remember EA were at the forefront of ceramide technology decades ago)

I'd hesitantly say it's a good product, though not necessarily due to the retinol/HPR element.

I'd like to read a dermatologist or scientific explanation of why it works "within a week" unlike other retinols which take months. The immediate plumping and line smoothing could be due to the HPR (as claimed by EA) or the peptide/ceramide complexes within the cream.

Hopefully someone like Botemp or Farmageddon will come along and know more (both v knowledgeable about ingredients in skincare )

Yes absolutely.

I haven’t tried this particular product but have been on a skin journey in the last 10 years. I have used some very expensive products some of which I have loved (La Mer). I also spent a year on Dermatica which I got fed up with and made my skin too sensitive.

I’ve finally settled on the best brand that I’ve used in years (for me) and it is Dr Sam Bunting. Her night tret, day serum, moisturiser and spf are all fantastic and a mid price.

I know this isn’t what you asked, apologies. But I just wanted to share as it’s been transformative for me.

@SoIinvictus thanks for this. Yes, I'd have been surprised if retinol was high on the ingredients given it's not supposed to cause any irritation at all, which is rare for retinol and the like.

@Kaftankween thanks for sharing. Will definitely be taking a look at this.
