I have had acne since having ds months ago and have been on NUMEROUS anti biotics and saw dermatologists etc. Well i have come wo a bit of a breakthough....

I was using rimmels light relfecting foundation and had been since AFTER ds was born. I have recently changed my foundation to ALMAY clear complexion and it is FANTASTIC!! It is especially designed for acne skin! It has great coverage (not mask like!) and it actually helps clear your skin! HAve a look on their website for the science bit but they do foundation, concealer and powder. It is sooooooo good!

I now only use boots witch hazel and tea tree face wash and cleanser etc and i have found a chinese herbal lotion for acne called ACNE GETAWAY which i got off ebay. I spent loads on internet on potions etc but this one is really good. It stinks abit but it is also really helping! Have been using for 2 days and my skin already looks loads better! I also stopped the stuff the dermo gave me. Sorry to big myself up but so pleased with all this as my skin was really getting me down. If i can help just one person with this i'll be happy.

x

Good for you. Makes you feel so much better when your skin is good doesn't it. I had problems in my 20's but all sorted now, thankfully.

My 11 year old boy is plagued by blackheads and is starting to get a couple of spots too ( I didn't realise it started so early). I'm not sure what would be good for him at his age but would like to use something that will stop real teenage acne starting, if that's possible.

best to take him to gp. I had bad skin as teenager but that was my back. They gave me zineryt lotion. Def best to try to nip in the bud. Esp as teenagers are quite sensitive and some kids can be nasty!

If they stay as blackheads I don't think he'll be too bothered but when I see teenagers faces covered in big red spots I so feel for them.

If ever it looked like his skin was heading that way I'd be off to the docs in a shot. He's always had 'porcelein' skin so it's just a shock to see him growing up like this - he's even getting a fine downy line on his lip. Where's my little boy gone......................

Thanks. I used to use the Almay foundation years ago, then they stopped doing it. Must have started again.
It is really good stuff.
Might give the ebay stuff a try too as am desparate, have had bad skin all my life.

doublebluff i really really do sympathise. Mine was bad as teenager but not as bad as since having ds. This is really the best it has been since having him. Even a little improvement is great eh! Both the acne getaway and the almay make up i got on ebay
