Just for fun - an imaginary clothes splurge…

I used to love watching Trinny and Susannah’s show when they’d buy someone a whole new wardrobe which all worked together and the person would be transformed….! I think they used to give £2000?

So, if you had £2000 to spend on clothes right now (I don’t, this is just for fun!) what would you get?!

Can I have an imaginary weight loss too?

If so, I;ll take an Alexander McQueen trouser suit, even if I gave to wait for the sales/

Yes why not! And an imaginary custom-built walk-in wardrobe to store all your lovely new buys in. Your new McQueen suit will be very happy there!

A couple of quality items:
Burberry Camden car coat in black
pair of ankle boots from Russell & Bromley

Lots of real silk shirts and bodycon skirts.

All I want is a blue Goyard St Louis and a pair of Hermes bouncing sneakers.

Thought I'd come back to this thread as I realised that I basically HAVE done a full wardrobe upgrade for £2000. I've been gradually updating my wardrobe for the past couple of years and tracking everything that I buy. Here's what my £2000 has bought... I think I've done fairly well with the budget, everything was bought new but on sale/with codes - I track what I want and then try to wait until there's an offer for at least 20% off:

Very nice, @whatnottowear!

Truly just for fun? Well … I saw these a few days ago and have developed a completely unreasonable yearning …

In truth I would be horrified if they suddenly fell into my hands - but the two pieces look so cosy …

I'd get something that I've always wanted. For years I've wanted the feminine version of what Alan Rickman wore when he was playing Professor Snape. So the frock coat and then either a long full skirt with buttons down the front, or a bustle skirt, and then some nice Victorian boots, and all the proper underwear and a corset to go underneath it, and a matching witches hat, and the robes! Quite fancy swishing around in something like that, and going to something like Ascot to show off. 😁

I would spend 50 quid at Age UK and then go and get absolutely smashed .

Loved this.
