Soft, comfortable skinny/slim jeans

All my jeans are ancient and too tight for me, bar one Fat Face pair that are really heavy and rough.

Where can I find some super soft slim or skinny jeans that aren't overly pricey? I've looked at H&M but the reviews don't fill me with confidence. M&S all seem to have unflatteringly-placed/small back pockets, likewise Tu. Next jeans seem to have weird waistbands. I don't know what to do.

New Look. Mine still going strong from 2015! Think they still else than £30..

Its5656 · 24/09/2023 22:19

Are you near an M&S so you could try them on? I swear by M&S jeans.
I do have a pair of Spanx jeans that I love but they are pricey.. normally £100. I got mine in Tkmaxx for £20 but it can be very hit and miss in there.

White Company jeans are very soft but £89. But so very soft.

IDriveMySupernova · 24/09/2023 22:50

It's the M&S pockets I really don't like, unfortunately...

I love Matalan jeans at the moment, they fit me well and are cheap.
April style for skinnies
Grace style for straight leg

Ooh I hadn't considered white company. I will have a look on Vinted. What is the sizing like?

I have some very soft 7 for all Mankind from TK maxx

MorrisZapp · 24/09/2023 23:07

I've managed to get a good few of pairs of incredibly soft 'jogger jeans' from TK Maxx over the years - always from unknown German brands.

I have literally worn them out and can't find suitably soft replacements anywhere.

I'm wondering about brands like Only and Vero Moda on Zalando, both of which are Scandi I think. I do have a couple of pairs of Only trousers which seem reasonable quality, but haven't tried their jeans.

Asda Wonderfit jeans are fab and only about £20

Ykn · 24/09/2023 23:23

Another vote for Asda Wonderfit. Great value and look good too.

I buy Good American jeans and it’s like I’m not wearing jeans as they’re so soft & comfortable. I’d always thought premium jeans were just a con and would never have bought any until a friend encouraged me to try a pair. I honestly couldn’t believe the difference and now I’m a total convert. My DH buys Paige jeans and had a similar experience switching from M & S to premium jeans. We wait until they have sales and never pay full price for them but I’d rather have fewer pairs that are more comfortable.

HashBrownandBeans · 25/09/2023 05:28

My favourite jeans currently are Wonderfit from George. I’ve bought four pairs as I wear the black ones for work

I think it’s quite generous - I’m hourglass so the waist fits me quite well as opposed to gaping.

Brompton jeans are smaller than the Marlow jeans. A 14 in Marlow is quite loose legged on me whereas 14 in Brompton looks close to a skinny jean rather than the boyfriend style they say it is.

I would say I’m a 16 in other places.

MorrisZapp · 25/09/2023 09:04

I also buy lots of jeans in charity shops. Let some other bugger wear them in! I always size up, and only buy soft or lightweight denim. Had some brilliant jeans that way, from weird random brands. Amisu, anyone?

Babygirl888 · 25/09/2023 09:07

New look - Hallie and Jenna jeans are alot softer than standard jeans in my opinion.

LaCerbiatta · 25/09/2023 09:15

I think massimo dutti jeans are good quality and flattering and not at all expensive. Always the first place I look.

But then again I think I'm the only person in mumsnet who really dislikes m&s jeans. They're really unflattering on me, too high waist even if not meant to be, and I hate the soft material. I think nice jeans can't be soft, need to be nice, thick denim.

LaCerbiatta · 25/09/2023 09:16

And I known soft will be more comfortable, but as long as they're not too tight, thick denim is really comfortable

I don't rate MD jeans. Bought a pair during the same and they are so baggy now and look really cheap. I'm a fan of their clothes but the quality is very hit and miss.

I went to M&S as they lured me in with their 25% off jeans offer. I tried on pretty much every pair of slim/skinny they had. I ended up buying a pair of black Sienna straight and grey Ivy skinny. I would’ve liked some blue Ivy too but they didn’t have my size, but at least I know how they fit now. Weirdly the pockets didn’t resemble the ones on the website, or maybe it’s just my arse.
