So, would anyone care to help me find a party dress for a non-girly 2 yo?

She does quite like spangles and pink. But she is far too much of a rapscallion (sp?) to wear a proper girls party dress.
We're tried. She looked ridiculous.
I need something slightly special looking, but still with attitude. Is there a fancy version of denim skirts & stripy tights? Ideally not Boden....

Hummm, like it flat, but it hangs sort of funny on, doesn't it. Right sort of idea though

tickety boo - I have very similar dd to yours by sound of it and got her an outfit from them for dd2's christening, nice but not too girly and she loved it

JackieNo · 04/03/2008 20:14

LL..

Uttam has some nice stuff too.

PatsyCline · 04/03/2008 20:16

Denim smock dress? My DD2 is two and would look great in that. She is a great lover of puddles.

funnyhaha · 04/03/2008 20:26

oooh, oooh, went to put on tea. Am loving tulip & nettle
Do you think she needs two party dresses?

She HAS to have the denim one for running about, sporty type parties and then another option for floating about in a dreamy state having eaten lots of cake.

JackieNo · 04/03/2008 20:32

Needs, schmeeds - go for it. Also Kids Should be Kids - some cute ones, but maybe a bit more everyday - I like the spotty and stripy ones. The lady who runs it has been on MN and you might be able to get free postage - search for her name, Malene, I think it was.

Greensleeves · 04/03/2008 20:39

this?

Greensleeves · 04/03/2008 20:39

arse, it's one of those sites where you can't link to individual photos

JackieNo · 04/03/2008 20:40

YOu might be able to link if you open it in a different window or tab, greensleeves.

Greensleeves · 04/03/2008 20:41

this?

JackieNo · 04/03/2008 20:44

It worked. V cute.

Greensleeves · 04/03/2008 20:44

I like this but then I do have odd taste

Greensleeves · 04/03/2008 20:46

and this

margoandjerry · 04/03/2008 20:46

My dd has this and it's lovely. She's not a girly girl but this looks great with blue tights and a blue cardigan.

Stripy is a good look for non girly girls imho

funnyhaha · 04/03/2008 20:47

cute, thanks greensleeves
And she already has one of the stripy dresses from kidsshouldbekids, JackieNo - I was telling myself it was too everyday...

JackieNo · 04/03/2008 20:49

Oh yes, definitely too everyday, better get her some more dresses. It's not half as much fun dressing boys, is it?

dizzydixies · 04/03/2008 20:53

oh good grief, am going to have to hide this thread - credit card has been out and used already - hopefully won't turn up until next week when dh is on early shift!!!
