warm slouchy jumpers

Looking for recommendations for places to find warm, relaxed/slouchy jumpers for weekends round the house in winter. Not too fitted and especially no high necks. A bit fashionable would be a bonus (although that seems to be a lot of high necks right now).

To complicate matters I'm allergic to wool and I don't really have the budget (or patience/laundry skills) for cashmere.

Thanks!

H&M - if you take in a bag of used clean clothes to recycle, you will be awarded
£5 voucher when you spend £25.00. If you spend £24.99 just buy a carrier bag.

CattingAbout · 20/09/2023 09:36

Thanks - didn't know that!

Thanks all for replying. I really like the Arket pink one but the price is 😮!

The mango one is a nice shape but i'm not really a fan of either of the colours.

The M&S one is a definite contender @MerryChristmasToYou , thanks.

I’ve had a few (v neck too), from Primark.

I’m sure nobody here does shop there but it always seems very full whenever I pop.

I work mainly in an outdoor office so these are adequate for keeping the chill out.

Following as I’m the same OP. Can’t wear wool (even if only a tiny %). That includes
cashmere which is probably for the best (£££). Great thread.

Andanotherone01 · 21/09/2023 15:02

I know you’ve said no cashmere but H&M do the most fantastic slouchy cashmere jumpers. Don’t be daunted by the washing - I wash them on the hand wash cycle in the machine for 20 mins and have never had a shrinkage disaster.
If cashmere is a definite no, then M&S have some lovely jumpers at the moment

MerryChristmasToYou · 21/09/2023 15:16

@Witchbitch20 , of course we don't shop in Primark. This is S&B!
(Half of what I'm wearing right this minute is from Primark. Rest is charity shop and TK Maxx, but I'm not looking stylish or beautiful)

Lorrymum · 21/09/2023 15:43

I can't wear wool either but so much knit wear is made of recycled polyester which just sounds horribly sweaty.

Doggymummar · 21/09/2023 16:16

Try Vinted. I bought 5 cashmere jumpers from there ( mens) washed them on the hand wash 20degrees wash with woolite and they are great to wear now.

Ilikeyourdecor · 21/09/2023 16:37

I second Vinted. You can filter for the fabric material and colour you prefer.

InstructionsUnclear · 21/09/2023 18:54

I bought two from M&S last year and have worn them loads and they’re still in excellent condition. Warm and smart-casual

we most certainly do! jumpers from there I will hammer for the winter then washed, recycled to H&M, see above : they are not built to last.
We are also not too proud to buy from Tu, or Florence&Fred.
I find sweaters are too short (for me) in M&S, although the example is cosy looking
Is that Sienna Miller in the M&S sweater? a lovely face

ThelmaBorden · 21/09/2023 20:17

Plus, should you find yourself in charity shops, Ive had good quality
mens sweaters unworn, great for everyday wear, longer too which I prefer,
heavier than ladies but indestructible, better made, especially from M&S,
cotton/silk for eg, always worth a quick look, ladies sweaters usually bitty
and had it.

mdinbc · 21/09/2023 22:07

Just a warning for mango sweaters. I had one last Christmas as a gift and after 3 wearings it started to pill. It quickly looked shabby and old.

I have had cotton jumpers from the menswear department in M and S. I have long arms and often a man's jumper is a better fit on me than a woman's jumper.
