Office wear for big boobs - help!

Hello, in danger of ranting here but new to mumsnet and don’t want to make a name for myself.

Please can anyone offer any advice or recommendations for office wear that looks good with a larger chest?

Im 34J and currently hating my boobs at the moment. Nothing looks good. I’m a single mum going back to work for the first time so unfortunately starting my work wardrobe from scratch and don’t have the biggest budget. I’m also working in quite a male office so want to try minimise my boobs as much as possible as want to make a good first impression and stay professional but also don’t want to look frumpy or matronly as I’m only 30 - maybe this is impossible. Please help!

i was going to say i sympathise as i am also big boobed (but seeing this i'm relatively small in comparison "only a 36E"

i was going to suggest that if you're after button down shirts try the american brands - tommy hilfiger and ralph lauren if budget allows. i've found that they seemingly cater for bigger boobies better than the UK brands. I have a simple white button down collared shirt from one and a blue from the other. bit pricey initially (but the sales are good!) but good quality and a for me are wardrobe staples.

the french connection top linked above is a good style too. i'd pair it with slim cut ankle crazed trousers (black or blue) and then tuck the front in a bit. and always a belt. heels optional.

Ah thank you so much. All these recommendations are great.

I will deffo try out the American brands but maybe will be too expensive.

At the moment I have a v neck top layered with trousers. It does have a bit of cleavage but I don’t think it’s too much

Where do I found out if there’s an actual dress code?

I didn’t see anything about heels in the contract but I didn’t read every bit so maybe I missed it.

I don’t want to make a bad impression by not wearing them

I add a camisole top/t-shirt underneath shirts/tops/dresses as I find that I reveal more cleavage when bending over and sometimes just standing straight. That little bit of extra fabric riding a little higher than the outer garment helps me to be more comfortable I wasn't showing more than I intended. I buy packs of different coloured camisoles to go with whatever I'm wearing. 🌹

Firstly the heels thing is outrageous.

I'm the same bra size and also work in a male dominated environment. I try to be reasonably covered up but I do wear quite fitted clothes.

Brands I like are:
Whistles, particularly the knee length dresses which aren't tight. Very comfortable and flattering.

French connection dresses.

I have so many shirt dresses. I saw them between the buttons or use safety pins.
Skirt or trousers with looser top tucked in, maybe a belt.
Smart cardigan or loose fitting blazer

This thread! Sorry Op but bloody hell!

Post number 1 we have a bloke in Style & Beauty mansplaining about office wear for big boobs & a company that appears have missed the years of controversy about telling women they have to wear heels!

Are you posting from 1983 Perigrine? 😀
