Yellow teeth

Has anyone used anything that has actually whitened teeth? I can’t afford to get them whitened at the dentist. Is there any off the shelf product that helps a little bit? Or are they all useless and I’m destined to have yellow teeth?

I don’t have red wine or tea or coffee or smoke or sweets. I clean with an electric toothbrush and floss. I just seem to be stuck with horrid teeth.

If you are in the UK then B&M and home bargains sell a tooth paste it's called Beverly Hills formula it's only couple of pound and it's whitening. It's really really good. I use my usual tooth paste Colgate to clean my teeth and my tongue for the mint then I use this after, I personally use it every second day then mouth wash. It definitely does work, I'm a coffee drinker and a smoker and I honestly get so many compliments about my teeth. They actually glow under UV lights when I've used this tooth paste 😂

I got Colgate max white One a few weeks ago not really expecting anything because I've often used whitening toothpaste and never noticed any difference. My teeth are definitely a lot brighter, it seems to actually work at removing some surface staining.

You might find an airflow polish helps. I get it done once a year or so and it’s about £90, but my teeth are gleaming afterwards. I asked my dentist about whitening and she didn’t think I needed it and suggested this instead to “brighten them up”.

Crest white strips are excellent.

You can buy the stuff the dentist will give you online - you just need to have the trays or some kind of retainer to put it in while you sleep.
mine uses Polanight or Boutique 10% and it’s about £60 online for 8 syringes; just find a well reviewed seller and follow instructions online for how to apply it. Don’t be tempted to buy a stronger concentration as it can sensitise your teeth pretty fast.

It is illegal to sell this direct to the public and as a dentist I could not buy whitening gels for this price from legitimate sources.

Anyone selling these gels is doing so knowing they are breaking the law which prevents sales of products with more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide in the U.K. , EU and many other countries. This is because of the risks to health .

I’ll look that one up. Thanks for the tip.

I've had the Airflow treatment and agree, it definitely made a big difference to my naturally yellowish teeth. It cost around £80 as part of a full hygienist appointment.

Nothing that is on this site is able to be legally sold in the U.K. , not only that but some of the products have so much hydrogen peroxide in them even a dentist is not legally allowed to use them as they potentially will cause irreversible damage .
