Which period knickers?

I have the M&S ones, and I like them okay. But the absorbent portion needs to come a bit higher up in the front than it does, otherwise I sometimes get stains. Any good alternatives with a more comprehensive absorbent portion? I don't have particularly heavy flow, and willing to spend if it's worth it.

I don't wear them but my DD does and what's worked for her are Modibodi and Next. The Modibodi ones absorbency patch goes front to back completely. Zero leaks and she's very heavy. I went pale at the cost of them but they really work .

Thanks. Sounds like a trial pair of Modibodi may be in order.

Second recommendation for Modibodi and also add Wuka to the list. I use combination of both brands, they are equally reliable for me. High upfront cost but have gradually bought more in sales. My oldest pairs are just over 3 years old and still going strong

Modibodis

Another vote for ModiBodi on behalf of DD

I use 3 modibodi ones on rotation and really like them! Always wear them on my heavy days, never had a leak.

Interested as also not getting along with M&S ones. Out of interest how often would you expect to change them? I thought they were meant to last longer but l have a day or 2 where I need to change them 4 or 5 times a day as they leak to the outer layer (don't even have heavy periods).

Have been rinsing and washing at 30c, no fabric softener as per the instructions but also finding that they smell really bad when wearing them at times. Have started using laundry sanitizer but not noticed any improvement.

You need ones with higher absorbency . This is what I found with dd . She had the 'heavy' absorbency with primark and even the modi bodi ones . But on heavier days she would leak through quickly . I then discovered modibodi do maxi - highest absorbency - and zero leaks since . She wears hers from 7am - 4pm when she gets in from school . Changes then changes again for bed .

I don't know if this helps, but I use washable period pads inside period pants. I had tried washable period pads inside my normal underwear, but found they had a tendency to wander backwards and forwards particularly if I was walking. It's not ideal for me in my line of work to be having to change underwear partway through what can be very long days.

Now, I can just change the pads during the day and I don't have to worry about them moving. I don't have to worry either abut potential leaks, as the pants provide a backup.

Edited to add that I use Cheeky Pants (forgot to answer the actual question!!). I have never tried another brand, so can't comment on comparisons. I wash mine normally and have been known to tumble dry them too....!

I've ordered a pair of the Modibodi bikinis and will be putting them to the test soon.

fTR: I bought some of the Modibodi classic bikinis on sale and they are exactly what I was looking for in my OP. They are definitely not the cheapest option, but they seem well-made and like they will last a while so I'm happy.
