What do you wear if you don't wear trainers?

I am looking for casual, flat or low shoes which I can wear for walking around town that aren't trainers.

It's taken me a while to realise but trainers don't suit me, my legs are very short and they tend to be quite rounded and cut off my foot especially the 90s throwbacks that are around at the moment. (The same happens with brogues which are often suggested on here). I need something less heavy, ideally in gold/tan/beige/white.

Trainers also make me look scruffy and I don't need any help with that.

I'm fine in the summer when I wear sandals or ballet flats or plimsolls (very low profile) and fine in the winter when I wear low/no heeled boots. I have various smart/formal options but they are not particularly comfortable for long distances.

This is a adult lifelong dilemma for me. Sandals in summer. Boots in winter . I’m short and round and like to dress a bit boho so trainers make me feel frumpy AF. I just about tolerate slip on mule type shoes ( with a small heel if possible ) but l always feel they look old fashioned. :(

Usually loafers, I have many colours, but these are quite good for this time of the year with trousers or jeans

I really like those @Livinginanotherworld

The minute the weather turns slightly cooler I'm into Chelsea boots. I have various shades (black, tan, chocolate, oxblood) and they tend to go with most things and keep feet dry. UGG ones are my favourite because they often have sheepskin inside but look smart on the outside and are genuinely waterproof.

I love a Mary Jane.

Trainers but get them fitted at a running shop. Brands like New Balance do different widths. Adidas and Nike tend to be short for their size.

Gibsons, derby, oxford or brogues - Check that you are getting the right size. I like Solovair. The shoes aren't the lightest but they are comfortable. You may need to try on more than one size.

Ballet flats and Converse offer no arch support.

I'd look at the following brands: Solovair, Ecco, Gabor, Rieker, Sorel, Hotter, Skechers. Check if the size you are wearing is the correct size for you.

I love Chelsea boots. I find them smart enough if work or when trainers won't do but comfy enough to wear all day and walk around in.

I love my Converse mules. They are slip-on backless Converse canvas trainers - go with everything I wear. I have black and cream ones - so comfy

Sandals in the summer
Slip on pumps
Uggs in the cold weather, every day.

Slip on espadrilles (like Katherine princess of wales….not the ones that tie) loafers with little bit wedge heel. Fancier flip flops like Tory Burch which have minimal support not for a lot of walking but there are other brands with more support, cute clogs. shoes that have closed toe with strap around ankle. All my shoes must be comfortable from first try on. I find a small front platform with block heeled sandal is very comfortable stylish and looks right with dresses or jeans.

I wear sandals in the summer and ankle boots with a very small heel or else DM style lace ups rest of year. Currently in Jack Skellington purple ones Blush
