Help with shoes

Hello all. I wonder if you can help with my shoe search.

Yesterday I went arse over tit in my blue loafers - see photo - which are only a year old but have little grip left. Good for summer but I slipped on a paving slab after light rain. Foot is broken.

I am a teacher and go everywhere at top speed. Not allowed trainers. I have black brogues for winter with a good grip but I would love another pair of navy loafers but with grippy ridged soles. I have tried M&S, Clark's and John Lewis.

All online as cannot drive for 6 weeks. And need to dream of getting shoes on again!!

Anyone got any ideas.

I am not old enough to want Hotter or similar. I like nice chunky soled shoes. I don't like really flat ballet type shoes but am open to suggestions. I could get another pair of brogues but would prefer a bit of variety.

Bonus marks for shoes that can be re- soled which will prolong their life.

And thanks so much for any help you can offer.

Could a cobbler resolve your shoes with a more grippy type sole?

If you’ve broken your foot you are surely entitled to wear whatever the hell you like. They should count themselves lucky you’re going in to work at all and not forcing them to shell out for expensive supply or worse.

@LadyHester Yes. I wore the ugly boot and a walking boot today. I needed something for the good leg that has a bit of a sole the same height as the ugly boot. So nothing about now.

I am more thinking about when I am well.

Thanks for suggestions. I probably need navy as I tend to wear navy tights and some sort of dress.

So, I'm pretty much the same as you. Job and everything. I've been wearing trainers because I have a broken bone and it hurts. And because no one has even asked whether I need any adjustments to do my job properly.

I'm finding Dr martens are working for me. It's not healing, so I'm limping a lot. Loafers just seem to dangerous for me at the moment. I need a shoe that won't fall off and will support the ankles.

I have an extensive wardrobe of dresses that should be worn with a chunky heel. I'm having to have a re evaluation. I'm too old to do frumpy chic. I'd just look frumpy frump.

@Whycantbonesbelikelego I am so sorry. It is bloody awful and I feel so old. Not ready for Hotter either. My problem is my foot sometimes comes down on the side of my shoe and then goes over. I need shoes that stay on and cover my foot. I have black brogues. I bought some blue ones from Hush Puppies but they were too manly and patterned and a bit too pointy. DMs? Might give that a go. I have some loafers on order from Gabor but I am not sure. The worst thing is ballet flats or court shoes. I wish I liked Mary Janes but I am a teacher so dread looking like.....a teacher.
