I feel bad about my neck

I'm now old enough to understand what Nora Ephron was on about when she said she felt bad about her neck. I'm in my late 40s and my neck is starting to develop what my Grandma called her turkey gobbler. I'm losing elasticity and it's starting to look a bit loose and wrinkly.

Is there any miracle treatment for this? Does face yoga actually work for this kind of thing? I feel like my neck looks older than my face, but I don't know if I just have to resign myself to it.

Are you making sure that all your facial skincare extends to cover your neck too

Do you apply sunscreen to your neck?

TerrorAustralis · 11/09/2023 06:21

Yes, I treat my neck and decolletage the same as my face. I apply all skincare and sunscreen to my neck.

It may not look as bad as you think? Perhaps it's more noticeable to you? We notice all our "imperfections" but your friends and family will only see you as beautiful x

It's not dreadful, but it's definitely starting. I'd rather treat it proactively to slow down the decline.

I know it's vain, but I'm only human.

Also, I am trying to lose weight, and I know it will look worse the more weight I lose!

Strangely there is a lady who keeps popping up in my tiktok feed who didn't like her neck so went to Thailand to get it pulled back vm.tiktok.com/ZGJnGHEKo/

Might be a bit drastic but certainly effective.

The thought has crossed my mind, but I don't think I would go as far as surgery.

I would look into posture improvement and exercises - you can't fix the skin by exercise but you can increase the muscle on you neck. I think lying on the floor and lifting your head was one recommended in the past (when face exercising was a thing).

Thanks. I'm willing to give this kind of thing a go, but no idea if it works!

I have botox in my neck, it's definitely made a difference.

I wouldn't have thought botox would work for crepey skin. What was your main concern that made you try botox in your neck?

I've just had a google and a quick look. From the before and after photos I can see, they seem to be targeting different issues to what I am concerned about, but I'm happy to be corrected if I am wrong.
