Hair dye at salon mistake?

Hi, have had my hair coloured with blonde highlights. The first time it was a full head this time a t section. Problem I've had both times is that the hairdresser doesn't seem to get to the root base at the hair at the front and 'misses' sections as seen in the photo. These are quite visible and given that it's not cheap I'm annoyed that I'm having to change my parting and am not happy with it. What do others think?

Did you have a patch test? If not, they can’t do right next to the skin.

Contact them and ask them to fix it. I had to do this and they put a few extra foils in the part that had been missed

You need to go back and ask them to get closer to your roots. I appreciate a small amount of root needs to be left otherwise you can get some strange striping. Also blonde/bleach/high lift colours can swell when applied do a stylist (especially if less experienced) may overcompensate and leave too much root showing.

You could always ask for them to do a root stretch but they will need to blend your blonde into it.

I thought a patch test was a legal requirement (according to my hairdresser) regardless of whether it touches the scalp or not.

Thanks all, think I might switch salon as well, the t section cost £89 which I thought was a lot for a local place, I wonder if a big name salon in town would be more technically expert, they actually charge £90 for the same.

I wasn't offered a patch test, they did take a piece of hair and checked the colour on it the day before.

They should not have been applying dye at all without a patch test.

Yikes ! Have they never done one at all? That's very unprofessional.

Oh Jesus! Surely it's a condition of their insurance?
Honestly find another salon they're an accident waiting to happen and their professional skill is poor.

It's a little local salon so perhaps they are not hot on patch tests, the technical expertise is my main issue, I'm not a hairdresser but I'm not sure why when doing highlights they start at the back and finish at the front when the front hairline is the most conspicuous and needs the most attention to detail. It was obvious that there were a couple of sections missed when she was blow drying it.

Being a little local salon is no excuse for not knowing the basic safety requirements of their trade.

Patch tests must be done. My hairdresser gets right into the roots - in fact it goes everywhere, she is not the neatest, but my hair looks great afterwards.
