My skin was always pretty good but now it is...textured?! Larger pores. And red in places, especially my chin where I get annoying hairs and worry it. I don't use makeup on my skin other than concealer and don't fancy that, looking more for skincare products. Help! And thanks

Could be a loss of elastin making pores sag, red light therapy masks and high frequency wands help.

Dermatica has made the world of difference to my skin (I use it on the back of my hands too). And also Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic used every morning made a visible difference within a couple of days.

For me personally, HRT has made a huge positive difference to my skin's appearance and texture - that and cutting out as much highly processed, highly sugared products as possible day to day.

I upped my skin care game - I double cleanse, medik8 press & glow, Sunday Riley pink drink, vitamin c (I use medik 8), hyaluronic acid, moisturiser. Spf. Retinol in the evenings after cleansing.

Caroline Hirons blog and book is good for routines for specific concerns.

Nothing prevents the chin hairs though, I just need to keep on top of those!

Oh, azalaic acid can be good for redness. And a cc cream could be good for evening skin tone without a full on make up routine.

HRT and tretinoin have made a huge difference to my skin. I use cheap moisturiser and cleanser. Also no alcohol and loads of water.

Keeping it simple and not letting skin dry out seems to work for me (as well as good genes). Good oil based cleanser, Glycolic acid toner, vitamin c cream, good spf based day moisturiser.

Am also trialling the new future renew serum from Boots. Was sceptical at first but I think it may be a keeper. I don't look younger but I do look better.

Plain old Zinc & Castor oil. Calms down skin irritations, heals up dry skin patches, gets rid of spots.

Holland & Barrett Skin Brightening Cream. Keeps melasma at bay,

Kalme undercoat helps restore skin barrier and prevents irritation and redness.

Garner Lavender Eye-cream helps keep underuse moisturised especially in hot weather.

Optrex Eye wash. Great for any eye irritation and styes,

Ultrasun. Lasts all day, generally (in the UK). No need to reapply. Can get sports formulas too.

Garnier not Garner.

meanderingbrook · 10/09/2023 14:22

And under eye!

Amazing suggestions, thank you! I'll work through all of these
