Let me start by saying, I've been fortunate for 32 years that I've never experienced this so don't know if it's hormone related after having my baby 7 weeks ago or if its the sun, but over the last two weeks the skin on my upper lip has gone dark and makes me look like I have a mustache!!! I'm using lightening creams galore but can anyone advise if they've had this before what they use to get rid of it or best concealers to use to hide it for the foreseeable?! Desperate here!

It's melasma - I get it on the side of my face, much worse since having my children. Mine looks like a single side burn 😅

I haven't found any magic cure, just being very vigilant with factor 50 and always wearing a hat in the sun. A single morning out and about this spring without sunscreen and it was back with a vengeance and won't fade until winter.

Hopefully it should get less reactive, but it's been 3 years since I had my last baby and no luck yet.

Hope that you get some more helpful suggestions, I'm watching with interest.

I have it too, sides of face, under eye and tash. Developed it in pregnancy over 12 years ago!!

I use sunblock 365 days a year, dread to think how bad it would be if I didn’t!

Yes, it’s melasma. I have it everywhere on my face so I kind of envy you only having a tash of it! There is nothing much that can be done about it. I really admired Kate Ferdinand when she revealed she has it and showed her face with it, it made me feel better about myself. But if a rich celebrity like her can’t get rid of it and only covers it with expensive make-up, there’s definitely nothing that works. I wear factor 50 sunscreen.

Plaster on suncream likes there's no tomorrow!
It does disappear with time and vitamin c serum.

Also called Fox’s Mask. I got it all the time in my early 30s, but not any more. I used to use a factor 50 sun block stick like a lipstick, but it was difficult because I always had a sweaty upper lip.
A child saw a photo of me and asked why I had grown a moustache 😕
