Sitting opp younger woman on bus with the brushed back dark brown eyebrows. Did no one tell her it looks a bit Joan Crawford and slightly mad?! Lovely white purple floral midi dress and gazelles without trainer socks I think?

A flesh coloured, skin tight all-in-one, like the leotard I used to wear in the 80's for aerobics. But that was red, and in a gym. Anywhere else? Just noooo!

A lor of older women are wearing sackcloths in this heat. Or they look like sackcloths. Very unflattering.

I agree. So many independent clothes shops round here sell linen “one size fits all” dresses and loose tops. They don’t fit all sizes. They really only look good if you are a size 16. They drown anyone smaller than a 16.

My personal fear is the return of low rise jeans.

God, yes. Only OK if you have a very short torso. I hate them with a passion.

Ha I'm in London and wearing low rise jeans and a T-shirt.

For me there are three key looks:

Minimalist/quiet luxury/tight top/baggy bottoms/neutrals
A nice dress with biker or denim jacket
A more avant garde/don't care approach (the sack dress)

With all wearing trainers. Visible white socks getting more common.

Sick of the dress woth denim.jackey and white trainers look ( which I have done myself). Just awful.

I was in London Monday and Tuesday (looking a sweaty mess) my style observation was lots of women looking fab in waistband-less long lightweight skirts, often with a daring slit and flat strappy sandals or the regulation trainer socks and trainers. What they wore on top varied depending on age and weight but white and black crop tops looked fab, this kind of vibe:

I wear this all the time. Looked across from me on the tube and a woman was wearing the exact same combo, we even had the same bag…

I absolutely love the cami dresses over a white tee look. This was my 14 year old self and I loved it. But the skirts over jeans thing. It’s just so much material. On my largest area. I usually like the skirt, I just see no need for the jeans.

And also yes, white socks. I buy the ones with the frill that pops out over ankle boots. I’m over 40 so I expect derision for this 🤣
