Help me find my perfect black loafers!

Been on the lookout for several years. Everything tends to be too low at the front or too chunky or too flimsy/hard so they aren't truly comfortable. Dream pair would be prada but that's not happening so can anyone point me in the direction of something along the lines of this?
Higher front, detail that is not too chunky, mid weight, not too delicate not too heavy. Black leather in a hi shine, not patent or flat leather, sheeny not shiny. Comfortable and timeless!

Was it these @Crazycrazylady

Is it just me or are they a little manly with the gathering on the seams?

River island did a fantastic pair with Prada vibes. I got mine off vinted as no longer sold.

Not sure if these John Lewis loafers are too chunky for you but they are very comfortable, like wearing slippers 🙂

Just found the perfect prada loafers on ebay...for £700😫surely someone does a dupe style?!

OK, I'm frittering over a decision.
I like all of these. I own the dm Adrian's in black but would like something slightly lighter looking. Ideally those prada ones but I don't have a spare £700!
There's a price difference to consider too.
Any opinion welcome!

I started looking for ‘Prada loafer dupes’, and found these:

No idea as to quality though.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 15/09/2023 13:14

My loafers were from Russel & Bromley. They were around the £250 mark but so very comfortable.

Justkoko · 15/09/2023 15:41

Thank you @notlucreziaborgia the ones I love are less chunky, they've got a bit of a 60s mod thing I think but also timeless.

I think these are the closest on that site:

Ooh, I like these - and have some vouchers! Maybe I'll go to try them tomorrow 😉

Justkoko · 01/10/2023 12:34

OK so....starting out looking for black smart loafers I've rather taken to dm adrian loafers in burgundy. I've already got them in black but the softer burgundy suits my skin tone far better if I was to wear with bare ankles. Am I crazy to keep a second pair in a different colour?

What do people wear loafers with? I’ve tried wearing them with ankle grazer trousers which means no socks, and I just get horrendous blisters on the backs of my heels. I really want to be able to wear loafers.

Valerianandfoxglovesoup · 01/10/2023 15:29

If its any consolation, I have the Guccis in black and white, so comfy but my husband calls them 'the bananas' 😀

Valerianandfoxglovesoup · 01/10/2023 15:32

I have 3 pairs of these for work, they are the most comfortable shoes ever, they have a soft back so you can wear them smart or like mules

Justkoko · 01/10/2023 15:51

Well there's another question, I tend to wear ankle grazers these days, how do I wear with socks?

OP posts:
dullandgrey · 01/10/2023 17:04

Are the Adrian DM loafers comfy to wear?

WingingItSince1973 · 01/10/2023 18:40

I've just bought some from Next. They have lots of styles but i went for the chunky version. They were very cheap and they do wide fitting which is great for me.

Justkoko · 01/10/2023 20:22

@dullandgrey yes, but after they've been broken in. Room in the toe box which I like but because they come high up they are firmly on your feet. Some loafers ive found cause strain because its almost like wearing ballerinas trying to keep them on.

dullandgrey · 01/10/2023 21:09

Thanks @Justkoko, I've ordered a black pair and looking forward to trying them out Smile
