Does “The Ordinary Buffet” actually do anything?

I have been using “ The Ordinary” moisturiser for a year now and I really like it. I have had the Buffet for a few months and used it in the mornings… no effect at all ! Anybody else find it useless?

It's OK. It's mainly hyaluronic acid which is in everything these days as a hydrating ingredient. I think there are some peptides in there as well? Can't remember though. I used it when it came out but didn't like the slimy texture.

The thing with TO is that they were the first to bottle these single ingredients and give them their real names (HA, matrixyl, copper peptides, niacinamide etc) so people believed the wheel had been invented. It hadn't. It's just that before it wasn't called a wheel (iyswim)

I quite like Hada Labo HA, and the Vichy 89 is ok as well. Both way less slimy than TO.

None of them are going to do anything other than add more moisture to the skin.

I used it for a long time when I first started using serums, which was quite late in the game for me. I used it before a layer of hyaluronic acid and then moisturiser. It fixed my dry skin. But nowadays i mostly use niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and then moisturiser. I was recently given elizabeth arden's nightime miracle thing and it's broken me out.

Thanks ladies, so it’s just additional moisture then! I was expecting miracles!
Dudsville… I use Clarinda Blue Or hid oil at night, that really moisturises without giving you spots xxxx

I used it, then went onto their multi peptide + HA which I did see helped with hydration (I have extremely dry skin)

I now used the Japanese HadaLabo, from amazon not superdrug and it is much better for hydration.

I was really impressed with Trinny London vit C so was about to purchase her peptide serum, but when I was researching on the inci decoder it recommended Bondi Sands Plump it up as a close contender. So at £8 99 v £60+ I went with the Bondi Sands. It does exactly what it claims, really gives the skin a beautiful bounce. Again, I got it from Amazon
