Vinted purchase - what would you do?

I need some advice from other Vinted regulars! Just received a leather skirt I bought, which was described as new without tags (which I am always a bit suspicious of!) and also that it was “perfect condition” and “never worn”. The thing is that to me it’s obvious that it is not new - it’s not torn or anything but in a few places the black leather looks slightly faded, if you know what I mean. It looks like it has been well looked after but worn lots. It was £50 so I was expecting something new.

I hate any confrontation but would you rise this? And how?

Of course I would. If it had been sold as good worn condition would you have paid the same amount for it? If not then you need to raise a grievance

I think I would have to at that price but not sure how you would prove it. I'm getting quite annoyed with people on vinted listing things as new without tags then it arriving obviously worn and washed at least once, or sometimes they put in the description that it's been worn once. Well then it isn't new without tags is it! I only list as new without tags if I've actually never worn it since buying it.

I would just send the seller photos of the worn areas and say something like, the ad says it's new without rages and in perfect condition but there's fading on it as you can see on the pics which isn't mentioned.

See what they say.

Yes, I am concerned about how I prove it.

I usually only buy things advertised with tags OR not new, but reasonably priced so I know what I am getting…

Photos will prove it, you can attach photos to complaints. Take photos of any other signs of wear like obviously washed labels etc

There is a stain on the lining which I have taken a photo of but the slight fading does not show up on the photos. Will give it a go!

That’s the issue, isn’t it. If something is used then you know you run the risk of it being not as perfect as you had hoped (and you pay the price you are willing to risk) but if something is listed as new then you expect it to be new !!!

If your not happy your can return and just lose the postage to return. I've done the same before.

AnotherCountryMummy · 01/09/2023 17:51

A video might show up the fading more than a photo.

Good luck, very disappointing when this happens.

I've had some sold as new WITH tags but the tag was attached with a safety pin and the item didn't look unworn....

(no didn't complain.... wasn't expensive and couldn't be bothered....)

Notcontent · 01/09/2023 19:16

So I had a response from seller saying it’s definitely new (no…) but I can return…

should I use the Vinted “I have an issue” button to ensure I get my money back? I once returned some jeans which were in very bad condition and wasted more money in postage and never got my money back…

Yes definitely use the 'I have an issue' within 2 days for a refund

I'm really wary of this too, a lot of brands use labels that just loop through with string, or pin on the string, it would be easy to take off and wear then reattach.
