Foundation for older skin

I’m nearly 44 and most foundations look terrible on me, they either separate and go patchy or look way too heavy and caked on.

Ive tried: Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin, CT Flawless whatever, Il Makiage, Revolution IRL, Revolution conceal & hydrate, MAC studio fix/studio sculpt/long wear waterproof, Bobbi Brown serum foundation. Probably loads of others that I’ve forgotten!

I use a primer (generally the one from the brand of foundation) and a bit of powder. The CT ones are the best of the bunch but not perfect….and for the price I need perfect! MAC looks awful on me now after using it for years; either tangerine or ghost, Revolution is OK but very hard to get a colour match and that can look too pale, with like a white cast over my face. Bobbi Brown is way too yellow.

I tried both Erborian and Trinny London BB/serum and I love the way my skin looks…but they have zero staying power. If I even blow my nose they’re gone and very often after the car journey to work.

Help!

Another vote for Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue - really good. Lightweight and natural, but long-lasting.

I use this too - I find anything heavier sits in my forehead wrinkles attractively.

Can anyone recommend a good primer? I've yet to try one that I've thought is worth it x

I've been using Radiant lifting foundation by shiseido it's really good. You don't need a lot and it lasts all day.

Tart Face Tape Foundation or Bare Minerals Bare Pro liquid foundation.

SecretVictoria did you find a favourite foundation?
Ive been thinking of trying Revlon Age defying foundation as its not supposed to settle into any fine lines...
I usually use Revlon colourstay (which lasts really well and is as good as a lot of the very expensive ones) for oily/combination and mix it with a little cien Q10 serum one pump of each on the back of my hand ..blend well and apply this worked well during the flushing menopause phase ... but its now beginning to show the lines....

IT cosmetics CC cream has been a gamechanger for me. It also has built in SPF which is a bonus. I also use the Erborian one sometimes too which is also excellent although lighter coverage
