I’ve just finished a space nk advent calendar one ( Barbara Strum) and loved it. Just looked to repurchase and it’s £275! Anyone got a cheaper alternative they can recommend??

The Inkeylist or the Ordinary. Both under a tenner and available in Boots.

As above.
Hyaluronic acid is one of the cheapest simplest hydrating ingredients out there. Any company trying to convince you it's like unicorn spit is conning you.
I like Hada Labo (huge bottle for about £15 on Amazon) It's not as sticky as The Ordinary.
It's also in virtually every hydrating serum made, so you may not even need a separate HA if you have a regular serum that contains it

I use W7's Moisture Quench Face Serum which I bought in Tesco and it has this ingredient. It cost about £6. It's a small bottle but it's lasted for ages. Advice for using a hyaluronic acid serum is to pat it onto damp skin because it will bind to moisture on top of skin, rather than drawing it out from underneath.

I use the boots own and it's about £5...

Not helpful but that Barbara Sturn stuff is bloody magic. I've never found anything that comes close but it literally costs more than gold 😭😭😭

Thanks for all the suggestions! @darkestnights i know 🙈 I’ve had two samples now and wish I could buy it but it’s mad money!!

I find The Ordinary HA serum horrible to use. It pills terribly and isn't doing as much hydrating as other brands. I really like First Aid Beauty and it's currently on offer at Lookfantastic so I am buying that and binning my The Ordinary or using it on my scaly legs only.

Holos do a lovely ha, about £20

I think the reason Barbara Sturm is good is that it has both high molecular weight and low molecular weight HA in it, so it can penetrate the skin a bit (as far as I recall). But not worth the price at all. There are other HA serums that also have both, I believe the Vichy 89 serum is good.

Doctorly - which is a youtube video by two dermatologists recommend Vichy and The Inkey List as hyaluronic acid serums, but basically warn that it won't do much long term for your skin and not to spend too much money on it.

I find the Vichy one the best for the price point - the cheap ones don’t do anything and the expensive ones (Medik8/Skinceuticals) aren’t worth it!
