Favourite decade for fashion?

Just curious really, if you could (or if you do) dress like any decade/era what would you choose?
Personally, I love the Edwardian era but im not sure I could pull off/be bothered to dress like that everyday so I'll just stick to watching fashion historians on youtube. Same goes for regency era.
I do adore the late 50's/early 60s style as well and have a few dresses from around then but I dress them 'modern' compared to how they would have been styled then. If I could dress like Betty Draper from Mad Men I would.

I would LOVE to spend some time in the 1920's! Adore the Bloomsbury group, Vanessa Bell, Dora Carrington, etc. A sort of toned down bohemian, drapey look, my own painting studio, books everywhere, afternoon tea...
This look is more suited to summer though, as I rarely see imagery or film footage of the winter styles from that era. I am also thinking of that wonderful film 'Enchanted April' and Mapp and Lucia...

I love Edwardian children's clothing more so than womenswear. The clean, crisp whites and velvet ribbons, lace up ankle boots and straw hats.

Always longed for a sharp short bob with a blunt fringe but with wild bushy dark blonde hair I doubt it should ever come to pass Grin

Such an interesting question.

I adore Victorian/Edwardian fashion but I think I'd go to Grease.
Is that 1950's America?
Sandy's clothes-I always wanted a cinched waist and a crinoline to twirl in!!

And..... the details!
So many small and beautiful, well thought details in the garments from those eras - I have a few antique table linens and nightdresses which are in exquisite condition, much more so than anything this side of the 1950's could hope to compare. So many delightful variations in lace, crochet, stitching and pin tucks, etc.

If I could live my life like an Austen novel I'd be very happy. Unlikely I'd get any marriage proposals as my dresses would be covered in crumbs and marmite smears, but at least I could swish about.

50s - live the Bardot necklines and fuller skirts - suit my shape. My wedding dress was this shape and I gave a couple of dresses with a vague 50s silouhette..

Late 1930s/early 1940s.

Shoulder pads, pleated bosom, nipped in waist, hip skimming and a lean silhouette.

Paulette Goddard in The Cat and the Canary has the perfect dress.

It'd be 1920s House of Eliott style for me. Like PP I'm also a fan of The Enchanted April.

1970s. Studio 54, Bowie, Marc Bolan, Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci. Charles Jourdan, Guy Bourdin, Marie Helvin, Roxy Music, Jerry Hall, Saturday Night Fever, the BeeGees in skin tight flares telling us by the way they walked that they were womens' men, no time to talk, Debbie Harry in red lipstick and a slash of fabric, Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger, Princess Margaret and Roddy Llewellyn on Mustique. Ohhh the glamour.
