Help me spend my voucher

I have a £40 John Lewis Voucher that I'd like to use to treat myself to something I wouldn't usually use, so I figured some nice skincare of some sort.
They have a fab offer on the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, which I like the idea of as it looks very decadent and I fancy something that feels a little luxurious, but I wanted to see if anyone else had an suggestions. I don't mind spending up to £35 additional, and would like either a serum/moisturiser.
My skin is problematic, a mix of mild adult acne, black heads, deep forehead wrinkles and some dry skin (lucky me).
Does anyone have any holy grail products they could recommend?
Thanks in advance!

What sort of skincare do you normally use? I tried Estée Lauder ANR and didn't rate it. I also think cheapy moisturiser is just as good for daytime, especially under make-up. Without knowing your normal routine I'd recommend a good cleanser (I like Clinique take the day off balm) and REN AHA tonic to exfoliate.

I agree with previous poster, I had high hopes for Estee Lauder ANR serum and it wasn't great.

A very basic one with a toddler!

I use a body shop cleanser, I did treat myself to the Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant which has somehow made my skin a little worse - hoping it's purging! And then dare I say the aldi q10 night cream and a boots own day cream!

I do already have the Clinique cleansing balm which I had as a gift which I use to take my make up off with!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I think in some JL stores you can book a free beauty consultation, so you can sample things from different ranges rather than being confined to one brand. Might be worth having a look at the JL website.

I didn't rate the estee lauder night serum either

ANR is just a good hydrating hyaluronic acid based serum. The reason it was so groundbreaking at the time was because it was one of the first to use HA. Now it's in everything.

Tbh, you're already using a salicylic which will help with the blackheads and oil, so maybe a nice moisturizer. (though usually moisturizer isn't worth splurging on) Clinique Moisture Surge maybe (I don't like gel cream moisturizer myself, but they are suited to your kind of skin type) Lancome Hydra Zen is another beautiful soothing, calming cream.

Well Clinique currently have a GWP on at the moment so you’d get a little something extra if you were to get some Clinique. If you have a My John Lewis card you could take in five full size empty plastic beauty containers to get an extra fiver off. You can get smaller sizes of the EL serum you mentioned. Might be worth trying a smaller size before committing to the bigger size.

OP, I used ANR for years and years and really liked it, then in lockdown when counters closed I picked up the Inkey List HA off the shelf in Boots as an emergency stop gap. It cost about £6 and I have never gone back to ANR. That doesn’t help with your voucher (I’d buy perfume) but maybe worth a go!

Thank you everyone! I won't be going for the serum, but will look at the Clinique moisturiser I think! Definitely get some normal HA also!
I am so glad I didn't spend lots of money on it!

I didn't rate ANR but the Intense Reset is one of my favourites.
