and I can't find the thread now. I remember OP had quite mature skin, and the product isn't cheap. Possibly it had a woman's name ie Charlotte Tilbury or Paula's Choice.
Anyone remember? Many thanks!

Lisa Eldridge but othe posters who bought it on the OP's recommendation were less impressed iirc.

TBH an expensive cleaner is a waste of money. It's on your skin for 3 minutes and simply removes make up and sweat etc. They all contain similar stuff although some are full of herbal scents etc that are supposed to work miracles.

One of the best I've used is Waitrose PURE range - the cleansing lotion and it's £2.50

I've used cleaners costing £25 and £1 and can't tell any difference.

It was recommended in the Financial Times recently as a great buy.
If you don't have Waitrose nearby look at L'Oreal ,Boots No 7, Body Shop. All have good cleansers for under £10.

Nivea sell great cleansers for just over £2 or £3. Amazeballs.

Eve Lom or Liz Earle?

Was it Emma Hardie - thats a well loved one.

No dermatologist recommends expensive cleansers.
They smell nice, they feel nice, they're in great packaging.
They do nothing that the cheapest one doesn't, and go down the plughole in 30 seconds or less so technically, scientifically, can't do anything other than take your makeup off and clean your face. Whether they cost £4 or £40.

I love the Elemis balm. But I know it's a rip-off.

Charlotte Tilbury will make you think her cleanser is made of unicorn semen (darling) and Paula's (whilst her serums etc are good for oily blemished skin) still contain nothing that other brands don't at a quarter of the price))

Dermatologists recommended CeraVe and Superdrug own brand generally.

Ps... I like the korean oil cleansers best but I have dry skin. I agree you don't need an expensive Cleanser it's more about it being good at removing everything and not harsh. The expensive ones just smell nicer

Many thanks!
Lots of great recommendations thank you. (darling 😂)
I have super, super sensitive mature rosacea prone skin but love a bit of makeup, and cleansing mucks up my skin no end. Was recommended The Body Shop Chamomile here ages ago, it's great for me. But there was something about that OP that stuck in my mind, she was so glowing. And yes I think it was Lisa Eldridge. But I might give it a miss than and save the £££.
Thanks again all!

I use the aldi cleansing balm that comes with its own muslin cloth. Cheap, smells fine, doesn't iritate my sensitive skin, job done.

If you want something for very sensitive skin, La Roche Posay or Avene are worth looking at.

I have used Clinique Take the Day Off which is about£28. It did last for 6 months, but so does the Waitrose one for £2.50!
