Deodorant allergy but very sweaty person

I am really allergic to deodorant, I used to be OK with creams but now even they make me insanely itchy. I get very sweaty and need deodorant. Please send me your recommendations. I've tried the bicarb paste under the pits but it's a faff.

Thanks for the advice, I went to Pitrock being the cheapest first, disaster my pits came out in red itchy spots. I've ordered Wild but not holding my breath, also discussed botox with a doctor but it is very expensive.

This is American but ships very quickly. I use their sensitive range. It is really gentle and effective.

They no longer ship anywhere internationally other than Canada

which version of the pitrok did you try?

Icabod · 13/09/2023 22:12

The deodorant drama continues, having spent a fortune, I'm still itching.

Poor you itching all this time! Have you tried the "Mum" brand of roll on antiperspirant, they do a fragrance free one that has a fairly short ingredients list. You can buy it from Superdrug and it's not very expensive.

I'm a very allergic type person, used soft and gentle roll on for years but suddenly itching really badly. I've found spray original dove is OK but not the roll on🤷‍♀️
Think you need a couple of days with nothing on ( when your just at home) and then trial different ones until you find one that suits. Just because its natural doesn't mean that you won't be allergic to something in it unfortunately, I appear to be allergic to aloe🙈 which is in a lot of natural versions but I do use most faith in nature products like shampoo and soap without issues. Good luck😕

Hi @Icabod , I know this is an old thread but I wondered if you found anything in the end? I'm currently going through the same itchy drama Sad

I've started to use this..my local HandB don't stock it anymore which is a faff. Got extra smelly during pregnancy and my normal stick didn't work. This is for very sensitive skin and my BFF with eczema on her pits can only use this, all other irritate and sting. Good luck xx

I've moved to Pitrok, I don't love it but it worked best for me. I didn't get on with Wild or Act, I dry it with a cool hairdryer after application.

But also I discovered I was on an estrogen heavy pill and since I've come off I can wear regular cream deodorant for special (sweaty) occasions like summer weddings. If I use it regularly the insane itching returns.

I've also started washing my pits with Sanex bar soap as it helps. Then I do not use anything perfumed anywhere on my face or body. Also I stopped using any retinol based skin care as I had an inkling it contributed and had a weird reaction with anti-perspirant deodorant - totally unscientific but when I had a shower used retinol and deodorant my itching increased...

I'm allergic to zinc, perfume, plant oils & alcohol (on my skin only).

Deodorants are a nightmare but Simple has always worked for me. Loved their roll on but they've discontinued it so now I'm stuck with the spray which is 125ml (not good for hand luggage).

Have you been tested to see what you're allergic to? These days it's probably a long referral time but definitely worth it so you can see what to avoid. My allergies came on in my 20s following 'burning' the skin on my face using out of date suncream.

Thank you for updating, that's really helpful Smile
