How can I find my style?

Hi all,
Last year I had colour and style analysis with House of Colour. The colour analysis was spot on, but the style analysis definitely not so much (or at all really). I've been back and forth but really it just feels like they doubled down on it.
So I now know that definitely doesn't work for me, but that aside I'm just as much in the dark as before, except I can choose the right colours.
Are there any online resources anyone can recommend? Where I can either work it out for myself or have a 'virtual' analysis done without it being a ridiculous price?
I don't live close to many clothes shops so I mostly order online and end up sending a lot back.

There is a thing called the Kibbe body type analysis. It goes further than the usual hourglass/apple/pear body type.
BUT there is a difference between body type and style, so first you have to decide how much you want to style yourself around your body type or whether you want to follow a style irrespective of body type. I probably sit somewhere in the middle but I at least know what things to 100% avoid for my body type

Start by putting together a Pinterest board of images of looks you like. Influencers/celebs/online shopping images. The more you collect the more you will hopefully see some consistency in the styles you are drawn to. Then figure out what iteration of it suits you and your lifestyle. Find Instagram posters that you identify with and be guided by that.

^ this. Buy the Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees if you need a more focused approach. I found it made me think why some things looked better on me than others, even if they looked similar on the hanger.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm going to try to learn more about body shape and keep an eye out for that book

I have a similar issue.
I know what doesn't suit me, but not certain what actually DOES.
I am slim, average height and it ought to be fairly easy, but I always feel that I loo odd, untidy, that things never suit me. I have sometimes wondered if it is my hair? I think it plays a much greater part in the equation that just body type - hence long red haired 'pre-raphaelite' curls will have a completely different vibe to a shirt, straight, blunt Louise Brooks bob!

My hair is a bit fuzzy, mid blonde and longish, but it plays up in the slightest weather and makes me feel harassed and untidy. I do think this really affects how my clothes feel, but wish I knew how to deal with it.

I like simple shapes and tend to avoid pattern, and love the style of a middle aged Jane Birkin, but I have no real idea if this suits me own look. You would think I should have worked this out by now at 49!

gosh so many typos Blush

Jane Birkin is very classic so should be easy to emulate - but you need to find the specific type of simple classic pieces that you feel comfortable in-eg go and try on loads of different slim/straight/
bootcut jeans and several different types of white shirt (from v tailored to more relaxed). The more you do this the more you should start to know when something makes you feel great and that is the thing that will look great.

Add shoes that make you smile (and are comfortable) and belt/jewellery/bag/scarf that you love - this will make your look properly yours.
