I want to invest in a very good eye cream.

I need a new eye cream.

I like to take good care of my skin because at 53, I think my skin is in really good condition, and I want to maintain it moving forward. I don't have any deep lines round my eyes, just a few fine ones.

I am using Skin & Me Tret, and I cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise with La Roche Posay. The eye cream is OK, but I am looking for an eye cream that is not a gimmick, but actually does a very good job.

I don't have any puffiness, or redness, or dark circles. I need it to hydrate and moisturise.

Can anyone recommend a very good eye cream?

I personally don’t think eye creams do anything. The only one I think which is good for daytime is Ipcircle caffeine one. And the Clinique rollerball (you can get a caffeine one or could do).

I’ve tried Estée Lauder, La Prairie, Caudalie, one and both of those were ok but no significant results. Current boyfriend got me the Susan Kaufman serum which is good but not sure I would buy it.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 24/08/2023 09:25

From google Dr Barbara Sturm and Guerlain have good reviews but not tried them.

TheOGCCL · 24/08/2023 09:29

I agree separate eye creams don't do much so interested to see if anyone has found something amazing

CMOTDibbler · 24/08/2023 09:33

I use Ren eye cream, but the biggest difference to my under eye has been using moisturising eye drops morning and evening. I started using them for dry eye, but the difference to the crepeyness is incredible

stevalnamechanger · 24/08/2023 09:34

Sunscreen and tretinoin , and a bog standard moisturizer

stevalnamechanger · 24/08/2023 09:34

You do not need anything else , maybe some hydrogel patches for a quick boost

You're already on the best path

Calypsocuckoo · 24/08/2023 09:37

The Dior super potent serum is the best, i don’t have any lines now around my eyes, it seems to plump the skin and is lovely to apply. It’s about £60 but if I wasn’t using that then I just use Simple eye cream as a way to moisturise around the eyes, the Dior one is the only one that has helped with lines and creases.

BusterGonad · 24/08/2023 09:46

I used to love the Estee lauder advanced night repair one, but we're talking many years ago. It was my go to. Now I haven't go so much cash so I can't justify the expense.

WhenIWasAFieldMyself · 24/08/2023 09:49

Dermatologists don't recommend eye creams. Without exception they contain the same ingredients, in a smaller package, as the analogous serum.
If you have a serum, take it up to your eye area.
Invest in a decent serum.

From google Dr Barbara Sturm and Guerlain have good reviews but not tried them.

The "doctor" polices her reviews very closely and gets anything deleted that she doesn't agree with.

No non-biased skincare expert or dermatologist has yet to discover any ingredient in any of her products that justifies the ££££££££s.

The brand is the epitome of Emperor's New Clothes.

I know eye creams are a bit of a gimmick, but I do use them - I think I just take a bit better care applying them and that probably is more beneficial than the actual cream.

I'm using Fenty just now, it's not too pricey and i like the formula. I also use hydrogel eye masks at least weekly.

I think there's some truth in that. I used to use them religiously, back in the days (1980s) before serums were a thing.
I swore by Dior Capture and boasted of having no lines.
Well, at 25, I wouldn't, would I 😂

I do like the Kiehl's creamy eye cream which is a great hydrating one, and I'm going to try the Sali Hughes brightening one for the dreaded dark circles (I do think some eye creams targeting dark circles work, usually by masking the colour - like the Sali one)

But the ones for lines are invariably composed of that cheap as chips ingredient hyaluronic acid (including ANR) so sure, plumps and hydrates and makes lines look less visible. But you can have a pint bottle of Hada Labo to do that!

Also the one people forget ! Wear sunglasses as much as possible :)

Especially when driving .

Any1Else · 24/08/2023 11:27

@WhenIWasAFieldMyself - surprisingly I’ve found the Dr B. Sturm Enzyme Cleanser for Darker Skin Tones to be the most effective cleanser I’ve ever used, in the short and long term. (Over half a century of limitless experimentation!) I don’t much care for the name, but one can’t have everything.

@LaurelandHedgy I don’t use anything specific but my under eye skin is always wonderfully smoothed out by a Versed face mask. Day to day I tend to focus on a good diet and limiting my alcohol intake. But then I’m always peering at MN on my phone, so … 🤷🏽‍♀️

LaurelandHedgy · 24/08/2023 18:38

Which Versed mask do you use Any1Else

I use Sisley Black Rose eye cream, and I have really noticed a difference since starting to use it (I stopped for a while to see if it made a difference - it did). It's over £100 but as I say - it makes a difference to me, the fine lines aren't noticeable anymore and it's all nice and plump and bouncy rather than dry and shrinking.

BIossomtoes · 24/08/2023 18:49

Filorga Time Filler. Not only is it an excellent eye cream that eliminates every trace of crepiness but it contains an eyelash serum. I have decent lashes for the first time in my life now. It’s worth every penny.

Hiya! Don't want to de-rail the thread, but @CMOTDibbler would you kindly share what drops you use? I have awful dry eyes due to menopause! Thanks!

Back to the thread, do you think that Amazon sells authentic Filorga Time Filler? It just seems to be so much cheaper than anywhere else...

TheOwlChronicles · 30/10/2023 07:51

Zo growth factor eye serum. I won't use anything else. Best there is

CMOTDibbler · 30/10/2023 08:34

@HealthyEatingPlate I use Systane eye drops. The overnight gel ones are by far the best I've tried. My dry eye is menopause related too

GettingStuffed · 30/10/2023 08:41

Cassandra Bankson on YouTube recently did a very in-depth video on eye cream. Apparently they aren't all the same and it depends on why your eyes need treating, she explains how to test yours.

BIossomtoes · 30/10/2023 08:44

I buy my Filorga eye cream wherever it’s cheapest @HealthyEatingPlate, including Amazon. It’s such a niche product it’s very unlikely to be counterfeit, just make sure the packaging is sealed.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/10/2023 08:53

I was given the Clinique one in an orange tube which is lovely but wouldn't repurchase unless they redesign the tube as it's impossible to squeeze out and when you do manage it it shoots out all in one go and you lose half the tube up the bathroom wall! I'd have been very pissed off had I bought it myself.
