Could anyone help me out with where to buy clothing for a 15-16yr old girl? I’ve checked on H&M, Zara, new look, they all stop at 14 or 15. River island has a couple of bits but not much.
Are there any go to shops?
It’s for a gift so I’m not clued up on this age
thank you

My dd is 15 - she’s not especially tall, but I reckon she’s been buying clothes from adult section since she was about 12.

Its usually adult at that age sadly. My daughter is 12 but very tall and doesn't really fit into kids clothes anymore which is a shame as I hate buying her adult clothes

Can't you just buy a ladies size 10. My daughter is 16, and she's a size 10 in most major retailers.

She loves H&M, Bershska, Primark, Vinted and DePop.

She wears tiny denim skirts, big baggy wide leg jeans, cargos, shorts, crop tops and corset type tops. Joggy bottoms and hoodies are also popular. Oh and those little ruffled dresses that barely cover their bum!

Ahh ok thank you
i just got told by her mum size age 15-16 so was on the lookout for that.
At least the adult section gives me more choice.
will stick to coats and hoodies, try and avoid the bum flashing bits.
remember those days where I didn’t feel the cold

Just remembered my daughter has a dress from next age 16 but just seen that you are not specifically looking for children's clothes so would just stick to adult clothes in that case.

It's almost scary how similar my dd is to this description!!

Next does up to age 16 but it might be a bit babyish depending on what she's into.

A lot of the 16 year olds round this way look like they're on their way to audition for Love Island and probably wouldn't be seen dead in Next.

My 16 year old has been in adult clothes for a while.

Flygirl94 · 23/08/2023 20:12

She’s more the lots of black type

I would not buy a teen of that age clothes without involving them.

Mumof1andacat · 23/08/2023 20:13

I was in adult size 10 aged 13 so she would definitely have more choice in adult sized clothes.

Iloveavocadoes · 23/08/2023 21:32

You need to go shopping with her. You'll never get it right otherwise

CrushingOnRubies · 23/08/2023 21:44

I hate buying gift cards but honestly at this age ask her mum what her favourite shops are and buy her a gift card for it.

Passthecake30 · 24/08/2023 07:29

Age 15-16 would be more of a size 8 than a 10. However I would suggest gift vouchers as there’s no way that my dd would wear anything that anyone else brought her, aside from possibly pjs.

piercedears · 24/08/2023 08:31

My daughter would never ever wear something chosen by someone else.
Either go with her, or ask for a specific item she likes .

Flygirl94 · 24/08/2023 11:50

Thanks for the advice, I’ve gone for some Kylie cosmetic bits instead.
I don’t like giving money I prefer to give something to open and after a lot of you have said you wouldn’t buy clothes for that age I thought I’d stick to something I know she’s into.
My children are toddlers, will have to enjoy buying them clothes whilst I can
