Help - party with architects - what to wear?

Going to a party soon with a lot of architects. Bit terrified as architects tend to be far richer and more stylish than me (though the hosts are lovely etc). I'm 43, about 5 feet 9 in and a size 14. Ideally thinking of a chic black midi or maxi dress. I shop a lot in Cos and Arket, Me&Em or Sezane when feeling flush. Any ideas?! Hoping for something that is simple but won't make me feel like a frump!

Ha, well perhaps I just know a particularly well-dressed bunch of architects! Quite a small sample but they are always much better dressed than me... Perhaps that says more about me...

Enjoying hearing about what all the different architects wear though :)

BIL is an architect and an arse. I'd be tempted to go 'anti-architect' and wear a nice floral dress and white trainers.

Black jeans , big white shirt, paint some thick black lines on it, go as a mock-Tudor …

Thanks- I have neither the lovely arms nor the tan (!) but I think I get away with it because the waistcoat is tailored.

Most architects aren't particularly rich these days! Not how they used to be anyhow. Just wear what you feel comfortable in. You don't have to impress anyone but yourself ;)
