Can you recommend a supportive bikini for swimming?

I am down on the coast with one of my dc and 2 of dp's. We love swimming in the sea but the waves are quite rough and all our wave catching and jumping is putting my rather old bikinis to the test!

I'm 50 now and boobs are definitely not as firm as they were when I bought the bikinis years ago and there have been a few incidents where I've caught a wave in only to have to make sure my boobs are back in place before I get out the water! The bikini is definitely the right size but I think I need something a bit more supportive where boobs are strapped down now to swim.

I had a quick Google and saw some Speedos that looked ok but not sure if anyone has any recommendations. I wear a 34D.

If you’re looking for a sporty style (think more sports bra/crop top) check out Funkita and Tyr. People do full swim training in both so they’re pretty secure I imagine!

I like Pour Moi's bikinis, they're built like their bras and sized properly

Thanks @flyswimmer and @nejnej - hadn't heard of any of those brands so I will go and have a look!

Deakin & Blue. Expensive but they last well. And you can buy tops and bottoms separately.

I find Freya bikinis really flattering and supportive. you can buy them at John Lewis and Bravissimo. I would say the bra tops fit true to size as do the bottoms, I’m a 30 to 31 in jeans and take a L bottom half.

Thanks all - these are great suggestions and I hadn't heard of any of them. Am trawling through to find something in my size that I like.

Just get a swimming costume?

speedo, adidas, Nike etc all do good costumes. They’re decent Lycra so everything is held in place and no danger of anything popping out. Also more flexible with sizing due to the stretch.

we were in the sea last week and so many women in danger of losing bikini’s in the waves. I was much more secure in my costume. I usually add a rash vest as well as I can get sore from the sun/water/sand/salt combo.

Presumably OP doesn’t want to @Thisismynewusername1 . I normally wear bikinis as I have a long body so it’s difficult to find costumes that fit. Plus it feels more free.

Another vote for Freya :)

I am an FF cup and I use Freya wired bikini tops for my lane swimming.

Alpkit. Not fashiony, but very functional.
