Underarm hair.

I've been getting it waxed and it seems to have reduced the growth considerably.

I had electrolysis years ago but it wasn't very effective.

Has anyone managed to get rid of it completely? And how did you do it?

I finished a course of laser hair removal treatment about three months ago, I had 6 sessions, 4 weeks apart. I haven't had any regrowth yet, but have been told I might need the odd top up session. I've been really pleased with the results and am now getting my legs done too.

Will add, it won't work after recent waxing as hair needs to be growing for the laser treatment to work.

@Parapapampam maybe electrolysis isn't the right description. It was laser hair removal but it was a long time ago and I'm wondering if it might have improved. How much did yours cost?

I just shave every other day.

I booked a course of 6 which gave me a discount, think it was about £250.

I am very fair skinned with dark hair, so a good candidate for laser removal.

bluecrayola · 20/08/2023 18:54

Philips Lumea IPL - bought on offer in Boots. It took about 5 or 6 sessions, 2 weeks apart. Not painful at all, takes just a couple of minutes. This was several years ago and i never have to think about underarm hair. It's brilliant.

Like Parapapampam, am also pale skinned with dark hair - that's the best combo for IPL apparently.

Laser hair removal at SK:N clinic. Needs to be a proper laser not IPL. No more hairs very happy gal 😊

Having my underarms done hurt like hell, I thought I must be a real wimp, but then having my legs done hasn't hurt at all. I did have very thick gnarly underarm hair, was worth the pain though!

LoveLabradors · 20/08/2023 21:34

Epilators and Philips lumea. No growth at all now.

I thought I was, but I was rejected by the salon!
I have fair skin and mousy brown head hair. I would have called my eyebrows and body hair dark brown, but the salon disagreed. I was really quite shocked and confused. They did say there is another type of laser machine that might work.
Anyone else had this?

LuubyLuu · 20/08/2023 21:56

Laser, all the way.
Amazing not to have itchy regrowth or painful waxing. I'm fair haired and olive skinned and worked great for me after the initial burst of 3-4 sessions.

Boymummyofone · 20/08/2023 22:00

I've had mine lasered off about 7 years ago, best decision! I did 6 sessions, I get regrowth but it's very thin and scarce, I epilate it off maybe every 2/3 months
