Toast Gabi trousers. I wear them most days.

BestIsWest · 21/08/2023 06:54

M&S Eva jeans (winter) and boyfriend jeans (rolled up in summer ).
M&S Merino jumpers
Fitflop rally trainers as pp - I have 5 pairs in various states of wear. I rarely wear anything else apart from some fake Birkenstocks. They saved me from horrendous plantar fasciitis and I live in fear of it returning.

@WhenIWasAFieldMyself which M&S wide legged trousers do you go for. I’ve been browsing and can’t decide.

Morrisons leggings.

Usernamen · 21/08/2023 06:57

Levi’s jeans and denim shorts

COS t-shirts

Uniqlo t-shirts

Lululemon leggings and shorts - I could open up a shop with these

M and S jeggings.

I often buy 2-3 different colours if any clothing I really like and currently have multiple sets of a T shirt from matalan, jersey dresses from next and fleeces from Tesco!

dressedforcomfort · 21/08/2023 07:10

Fly London ankle boots. Have them in 3 colours. Ditto Birkenstock Arizona/Mayari sandals: I only have 2 seasons for footwear. Boots and Birkenstocks

M&S plain chiffon camisole - have in about 3 colours.

White Stuff slouchy Selina jersey jumpsuit. Have a black and grey (and if they did navy I'd snap them up). They've basically been a constant wear since Spring.

Primark black vest tops with skinny straps that you can alter the length on , for the grand sum of £2 each . Wear alone for gardening , under see through summer tops , as a base layer under winter clothes when it gets chilly . They aren’t made the same as they used to be though , which is a pain , as you used to be able to wear them to go out too, but now I find they are too thin to wear without another layer in public .

Icequeen01 · 21/08/2023 07:52

Roman cropped trousers. So comfortable and I have about 10 pairs in various colours.

Cantonet · 21/08/2023 12:01

Brora lace edged thermals in the sales as they're pretty, warm & last forever.

Boots/trainers from Vionic.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

How do you find M&S merino jumpers? I bought 2 last year, washed them on wool cycle with delicates detergent and both have shrunk a tiny bit. OK in the body still but arms are now tight, I kept them as they look good on video calls for work but it put me off buying more…

Last years merino jumpers were rubbish. They were very thin and the knit was loose, which is why they shrank. The ones from previous years have been much better and have lasted. Hopefully they go back to normal this year!

Birkenstock Madrids - I have about 20 pairs in various colours that I rotate as I virtually live in them from March/April until October

Sainsbury's Tu high waisted skinny jeans in black and dark / light blues. Not fashionable but soft and comfortable and will throw them on with a top for dog walks

M&S multipack knickers - midis, boy shorts and high legs both the cotton and no VPL silkier ones, get black white and nude

Freya bras and matching knickers (various styles) for when I want to wear a nice matching set. I'm a 40DD and curvy bum and their styles / sizing is good on me (like their bikinis too and always try to stock up in sales)

Yes to what PPs have said about New Look - some little gems amongst the poorly designed and made polyester tat. Always find at least 2 nice cotton casual summer dresses in there. Ditto peacocks - their basics range of cotton vests is great value, though they are quite thin (I like that they are thin though and go for the darker colours)

Bamboo socks from BAM Bamboo Clothing - both everyday ankle sock and the hiking socks. Have gradually replaced all my socks with these and love them, well worth the money. Even the lighter pairs have reinforced toes so last really well. I love the stripy / colourful ones

Fabletics Powerhold leggings - do exactly as they say and hold everything in and I have pairs that I've washed and worn for a few years now. Very good quality but I'm aware it's a subscription service so you have to remember to cancel once you've got the offer you want.

A basic that performs well from day one, in look, style, fit and wash and currently have trousers, t-shirts, breton tops in a doubles box in my wardrobe! Learned a few years back, that even if a style is repeated, rarely is the fabric the same and thinking of M&S here regarding a pair of trousers purchased last year, with the style back in and checked out in person by me yesterday, but the fabric is now different enough to make a difference and not for the better (so glad I bought two pairs last year!).
