Your Fashion Buy Regrets in the Last Year?

I am not asking about “what the hell I was thing about” of your youth but recent made purchases, when you should have known better?

Mine were a load of quality white round neck t-shirts for building my wardrobe basics, they just do not suit me - should have bought v-necks…

I got £35 for my one hundred stars kimono last week on vinted 👍

@Lilsoph sadly they are just too hard. They've never given and I have tried. I'm going to put them on Vinted.

Thats my fear - that they will end up being a waste of money. Hope you sell them at not too much of a loss.

Every summer I make the same mistakes. Strappy things I can't wear a bra under and contrary to my username I have to wear one! A stupid pair of wedges...I can barely walk in flip-flops, yet still I buy these things when the most glamorous place I ever go is the allotment.

A knee length sleeveless dress from Hush which was a panic buy for going on holiday and then I only wore it once. Will put on E Bay.

A stack of things that I forgot I hadn’t returned, and now it is too late. I may as well have burnt fivers in the street. They are two Finery dresses, ok shapes but not colours. A v nice green linen made into a horrendously unflattering dress that makes me look like a pantomime dame (Nobody’s Child). Some Weekday trousers that didn’t fit me properly, and two nighties from M&S ditto.
I could have bought something really nice with all that. I will have to stick them all on eBay or Vinted.

Some coated navy jeans that fit really well except that they were low waisted and although I tried to persevere I felt chopped in two every time I sat down. They were £18 in a boutique last summer's final sale but to my stomach's relief went to the charity shop months ago.
I'm very selective now but when I do buy something I know is a mistake I get rid really quickly so it doesn't mess up my wardrobe.

To all the posters who are saying they are too late to return things - I have serious form for returning things after the specified period - and have always had my money refunded . I suppose the problem would be if the company decided not to refund and you no longer had the item.

It is the online returns system, so I missed the Finery by a few days but the online thingy won’t process the return for me to get a return slip.

I've returned some long after and been as they can't keep your money and the goods. But Uniqlo won't let you generate a returns form after X many days. Maybe it'd be good practice to just get one anyway as insurance? I've got something to send back now which gives me a year to do so! I can guarantee I'll leave it to 11 months.

I bought a button front Whistles dress on eBay and as I put it on for the first time a few of the button holes ripped It’s too tight over the stomach which is where it ripped but of course I didn’t know that until I put it on - it’s my usual size! I can repair the rips but I probably won’t be able to resell for much with the repairs, so that’s £40 wasted.

I don't know why but I love this thread! Makes me feel better.. .

I bought a knitted black vest top from next. First time washed it bobbled all over and now looks ancient and really bad quality.

3 beautiful lightweight kaftans from Zara. A shop I've never bought from before as I'm a long way from one.But what can I say.... I was inspired by a MN thread.
Firstly they're see-thru, so then I had to order a cotton slip. But then that makes them hot & defeats the waftiness! And then they're maxi length, as I'm a short arse & I didn't have time to take them up before going on holiday. So I didn't end up wearing them, as I stuck to White & Black monochrome colours. Plus one was heavy crinkled linen & too hot to wear in a tropical destination 🙄
There's been no opportunity to wear them in the UK this year & the weather doesn't look like it's getting better any time soon ...
What an utter waste of money & a major fail on my Whering App, as they have absolutely zero wears.

A three quarter length leather shirt (not cheap even on sale!). It’s nice but I really don’t get much wear out of it.

Zara woodland maxi dress, just isn’t me.

I bought myself some heeled brown leather brogues as I felt I had too many casual shoes and nothing nice.

I absolutely hate them and they don't go with anything I'd normally wear. I also feel like they give me Minnie Mouse feet because they're quite chunky and I have very slender ankles and feet.
