I need to do a major declutter and am also broke and need to flog some clothes. In the past, I’ve mainly used eBay auction rather than buy it now, also occasionally Vestiaire for the more designery outfits. But now I’m hearing Vinted is good. Which do people recommend? The stuff I’m talking about as things like a couple of Boden dresses that are still in fantastic condition and a Massimo Dutti blazer that I bought in a fit of insanity that still has the tags on

Vinted is very good, easy and you don't lay anything.

Vinted

Vinted is good but you don't get anything like the item is worth. I've had decent stuff on for £2-3 and people ask for a discount on it!

Vinted

Can anyone explain how vinted works? I have a lot of stuff, unused, that I’d quite like to sell…

Vinted is incredibly easy and nuyer pays theor own postage
Just be mindful if you don't own a printer there are a few options which mean you have to print the label at home, you can turn those off, so buyer can't use them

I always request discount simply because you end paying near enough an extra £5 on top of cost of item. (Buyer protection & delivery) For some cheap items it's simply not worth it!

Vinted is extremely to use both as a buyer and a seller but prices on there have gone down significantly in the past six months. This is good if you are a buyer, there is less competition and you can pick up a bargain, but for a seller, it can be frustrating not to get the type of money that you would have in the past.
Things that still seem to be holding value are things like nice handbags (Kate Spade), coats (Cos), that type of stuff. Clothes, like your Boden dresses may not get much more than a tenner each, whereas in the past they might have got £20-30 on Ebay.

People don't want to pay out at the moment, and I'm finding stuff sitting whereas it was selling quickly before. I don't mind too much as I'm using it as an opportunity to pick up higher end stuff for ok prices rather than buy cheap.

Ebay doesn't seem to be selling much at all, I'm finding things I'm watching relisted so many times.

That should say Vinted is extremely easy to use...

Crazykefir · 19/08/2023 21:10

That sounds like vinted fodder.

Enriquetta · 19/08/2023 22:29

Thanks all, I’ve looked at Vinted and the prices seem ludicrously cheap. I guess I just need to take the hit if I’m going to empty my cupboards. Thanks for printer tip. Can you use Royal Mail to dispatch as I have a ton of stamps?

I think not as the postage is paid by the buyer and included in the printed or app version of the address which you download. So you either print out the address and postage/courier details and sellotape them on, or you go with your parcel to the store with the app and scan it that way (so no need to print). The use InPost lockers as well.
