Is this rosacea?

I've developed a red area of skin on my face. I stopped using all active skincare (retinol, vit c) a few months ago to see if something was irritating it, but it seems to be permanent. It's not sore or bumpy, but it is annoying.

Is it rosacea? And if so, what should I do about it?

I don't think so, rosacea for me tends to be on the cheeks under the nose, they call it the butterfly pattern . but it does look similarly sensitive. I treat mine (and tried antibiotics for years which work but this is better) with total kindness, ie sensitive skin care products, a day cream (dermalogica dynamic skin recovery) which has SPF 50 in, but the best thing is using neals yard wild rose beauty balm as a night cream, it smells lovely too. You need to moisturise for sure

This pattern of redness is more like perioral dermatitis than rosacea, but it's best to see a professional about it since it doesn't seem to be going away. Sometimes toothpaste is the cause of PD, have you switched your usual brand by any chance?

Thank you both. It did first flare up when I started using a stronger retinol... perhaps I need to stick at using gentle, scent free things for longer.

What have you been using on it recently? Agree, might also be worth switching your toothpaste - Oranurse is SLS free.
