T/A work wardrobe

I really need to replenish and upgrade my wardrobe and I'm really struggling with work clothes, I'm a teaching assistant in a private school working with years nursery to year 2

I can wear black jeans but want something different as well, doesn't have to be super smart just presentable

I'm 42, size 8 and 5 foot 6, I dress relatively young

Uniqlo should be useful for you - I’m sure you don’t want to be wearing anything expensive around small children. They have pretty much everything you’d need for a work ‘uniform’. And their collaborations add a bit of variety and zing.

Black jeans are a bit - unfriendly. Why not try some chinos or cords going into Autumn?

Community Clothing would be an upgrade from Uniqlo, if you want to spend more or feel easier about ethical / environmental concerns. Excellent plain trousers, t shirts, knitwear, shirt dresses. Outdoor wear as well.

Not sure if those suggestions are too obvious?

All the female TAs (and teachers) in my kids school wear the same general thing - wide 7/8ths type trousers in various colours and oversized boxy short tshirts, with either converse, doc Martins or those black leather slip ons with the big white flat form soles. It's like they all shop in the same place. They all look lovely, but it's very "stepford wives" how alike they all are.

Oh and the only 2 blokes (teachers) are shorts and hoodie every day.
