Also need some high black shoes with a T bar since I fall over if I don't have straps. No time to trawl the shops - I need focussed shopping! I'm 5'4" size eight bottom but bigger on top 32E/30F so suit jackets must be single breasted and have a deep V neckline (that's the extent of the fashion knowledge I've accumulated over the years!) I'm a lawyer so need to be quite formal.

Help please style gurus!

H&M is very very good for work shirts, I've found - masses of different styles available all the time, and the prices mean you can buy more than one at a time. So it's always my first stop & very rarely is it no good.

charles tyrwhitt they have lovely suits and shirts.

what sort of budget? m&s has some 3/4 length sleeve nice tshirts (ltd collection) for a tenner - I have a sort of tealy colour and black. also Cos has some lovely clothes atm. I find H&M a bit tatty tbh

Suits - I'd do a focussed trip to John Lewis (presuming you're near there) as they do all the useful mid-price ranges; if you have time for a side trip, I would have a look at LK Bennett - sounds as if it would suit your shape.

Today I am wearing ... a shirt from H&M with a suit from LK Bennett. I'm lawyer too.

classic white shirt on offer

Can get to most shops since I'm near a city. I really hate shopping so very rarely buy anything - as a result DH doesn't mind me having a blow out every now and then. I can probably spend about £800 in total for stuff which will last a while.

Sounds like you might be ideal candidate for personal shopper session, at whatever is your biggest local dept store?

sparkleymummy · 28/02/2008 13:03

That's a good idea actually. Anyone know whether you can take babies. Presumably you get to change in a larger room and so it wouldn't be a problem???

I wouldn't have thought an interested little observer in a carseat would be any problem at all! And yes, usually there is lots of room, particularly so that the adviser can wheel in whole railfuls of ideas. (PS I've never come across one where you are pressured to buy, by the way.)

This is helpful. Like the Charles tyrwhitt website too ggirl.

That's a great concept they have there! Why doesn't anyone else do that? Would stop those button popping moments I seem to have all the time in the bust area!
