Very dry elbows

What can I do about my very dry elbows? I have a patch below each elbow of very dry crusty skin, I don't think it's psoriasis or eczema, I think it's just dry skin from where I lean my elbows on the table. It's not red or discoloured but is a bit thickened and crusty/scaly. I've tried all manner of creams and moisturisers including Elizabeth Arden eight hour, various heel creams with urea, cocoa butter, vaseline etc.
Things just soften it a tiny bit temporarily only.
Is there anything like footner for elbows? I have a wedding coming up soon and will be wearing a shirt sleeved dress so would like to get rid of these dry patches...any suggestions welcome

I had this when younger. I read a tip once to rub lemons on it. It really worked too.

Lemons? How weird, if it works great but I wonder how it does. Will try it, thanks.
At least my elbows will smell nice! ( not that they smell bad lol)

Lemons is just using an acid. Get an AHA product, like a glycolic toner, wipe this over your elbows (works on cracked heels, knees etc too) then apply a rich moisturiser.

Alternatively buy an all in one product like this which can be used anywhere (although I wouldn't put it on my face or neck) that you have the issue.

Yep that's me too from my (left) elbow being on the desk all day. No problem on the right elbow as it is for the mouse lol.

Anyway, I now use a stick on wound pad/plaster big enough to cover the elbow region, put moisturiser on the pad, stick it on and away I go.

Don't have much of a problem anymore now.

Korean Italy cloth.

Foot cream.

When I'm moisturising my face every day I finish by rubbing some on my elbows and hands. Doing it daily keeps them soft.

Sorry, posted too soon - Boots heel cream is good for an instant boost.

Harebell22 · 13/08/2023 00:58

Thanks all. I already moisturise my elbows several times a day and have tried heel cream to no great effect. I'm going to look into the Korean Italy cloth mentioned.

If all else fails try Nive a creme in the dark blue flat pot.

Not sure if helpful but I've had periods of dry elbows and found when I add more oily and good fat to my diet it improves.

Have you tried Vaseline ? My heels were awful and this has really sorted them out

Actually it's the Boots "Intensive Foot Softener" rather than heel cream. Possibly much the same though.
