Dyson airwrap

I have a Babyliss Big Hair bought over 5 years ago and I feel it will need replacement soon but couldn’t find it on Amazon where I originaly bought it from.

Should I invest on a Dyson airwrap or is the price too high and not justfyable?

I do my hair at home normally but usually go to the hairdresser for a professional blowout when I need to look better on weekends (could range from 1x ~ 4x a week depending on the month).

Or is there a dupe that is just as good?

I have the Shark Flex Style and it is fantastic!
I haven't used a Dyson so can't compare, but I watched a lot of comparisons on social media and read loads of reviews.
Definitely worth considering.

Second the Shark FlexStyle. Definitely as good as the Air Wrap and half the price.

Another vote for the Shark version. I went to that from the Babyliss Big Hair and I love it. It’s done wonders for my grey hair!

So far this year, I've been moved to compliment a stranger on her amazingly perfect hair. Both had used Airwraps.

Far beyond my means or level of commitment but, as you're throwing money at hair styling, I'd venture it's worthwhile.

Sorry that pic isn’t the best quality but it is shiny and lovely in real life.

GarlicGrace · 09/08/2023 19:11

I've twice been moved ...

Sorry, it was a bit incomprehensible without the missing word!

I love love love my Air Wrap, I didn’t think I would. To be honest I can’t get the hang of the curling attachments, and just use my straightener for that, but my hair dries really well with it. I watched lots of YouTube and TikTok videos and use the hair dryer to rough dry, then one of the brush attachments when it’s almost dry to smooth it, then the round brush for my fringe.

I’ve never used the Shark of any other version but I would watch some comparison videos if you’re nervous. I’ve heard good things though.

Worth every penny for me.

I have a shark. My hair is certainly in better nick that it was using an average ghd hairdryer

Grey haired here too!

Would you say that Shark is un upgrade from Babyliss Big Hair? I love my BBH but I think I need more oomph. My hair is naturally curly and the BBH is great when I have a fresh brazilian blow dry or some straightening treatment but when my hair is natural I can't never get it perfect.

I much prefer it and definitely think it’s an upgrade to the BBH. I was finding the BBH was starting to snap my hair where it hadn’t before. And it definitely gives it more oomph. I believe QVC do a 30 trial of the Dyson though if you wanted to have a go first.

Thank you
I might go for it on QVC even though I never bought from them before - might need to spread the cost for a dyson but if it will reduce me going to salons then it is a good investment.
I like the paddle brush attachment - my hair is curly 3b but looks 3a due to chemical treatments - but very short and grey so when I make it straight it looks more sophisticated
