Trousers for colder weather? Not jeans

Ideas? I WFH and have almost no need to smart clothes. I do want some trousers though that aren't jeans, for casual city trips, visiting friends, etc, casual dinners out.

I have no idea what! I have a couple of pairs of Boden trousers ( think they are Richmond or Hampton) stretchy fabric with a tapered ankle. And a pair of velvet jeans (I like those!)

I tend to wear ankle boots or smart trainers as I do a lot of city walking.

What leg shape is in fashion now? Wide, straight, cropped, flared?
(I am fairly short so don't like wide legs as they swamp me.)

I tend to stick to skirts, although i do have some velvet troussers too, but rather wear them with heeled shoes. Always felt troussers make me look manly, so when it is cold i wear leggins or warm pantyhose mostly.

Try Me&em usually have lovely casual trousers, might be in between seasons now but I’d think there. Expensive but reasonably good quality.

Cords!
Get the shape that flatters your body.
For me that's wide or flared.

Cargos seem to be on trend but they don't really suit me so I'm giving them a swerve.

I also love dungarees.

I love wide legged trousers especially with trainers. I've just got some from Hollister, Primark and HM. These are the Hollsiter ones.

I’ve been wearing a wondrously thick and voluminous pair of cords, bought in a Uniqlo sale, for several months now. Mostly at home, but they’re good enough for a dash to the post office or dropping in to see family.

Cords are fabulous if you find the right cut for you. Or velvet, as you mention. Or really thick cotton jersey joggers.

Wool flannel or tweed is a more expensive option, more for going out than being at home.

And if you want to splash out, some knitted cashmere trousers would be gorgeous.

Infinite alternatives to denim!
