Can I canvas your opinions on these shoes ladies?

these ones

Are they truly hideous and only to be worn by gormless 14 year olds, or rather groovy in a kind of Gap/H&M/FatFace vibe and perfectly suitable for a 35 year old perma-jean-wearing SAHM?

I suspect the former, but I just kinda like them

i do not like them, they lack shape.

satine · 26/02/2008 21:54

Actually, I kind of like them. They're a bit like those retro Adidas sneakers.

PeachesMcLean · 26/02/2008 21:55

No. Don't like the spots.

Tutter · 26/02/2008 21:57

if you are very cool and can do the old school boyfriend jeans plus trainers look, then yes yes yes

sushistar · 26/02/2008 21:57

I like them. If you like them go for it.

Heated · 26/02/2008 21:57

A 35 yr old perma-jean-wearing SAHM wearng these would make these totally undesirable footwear for gormless 14 year olds. I like 'em!

PeachesMcLean · 26/02/2008 21:59

Tutter, but there are much nicer trainers around, surely.

paddingtonbear1 · 26/02/2008 22:02

I quite like them, they are kinda funky.

Bodkin · 26/02/2008 22:07

Oh yes Tutter, I am waaaayyyy cool

Peaches - show me these nicer trainers (if you have a mo). I want something light coloured, funky, a bit retro, a bit different really I suppose. To be worn, as Tutter says with boyfriend jeans.

Oh gawd now I've done it haven't I.

(always think before posting, always think before posting, always think before posting)

TBH I've just had a quick shufty round schuh and saw some lovely ballet pump / plimsoll types but not much in the way of trainers. So maybe I'm not as trendy as I like to think. And tbh, I like a normal pair of converse ones.

Can't pick up links off schuh. Will try elsewhere.

Bodkin · 26/02/2008 22:22

Nah, don't sweat it . I'll keep searching - can't do ballet pumps - have big ole wide plates of meat.

OP posts:
colditz · 26/02/2008 22:28

I quite like them, but NOT with jeans.

PeachesMcLean · 26/02/2008 22:30

hmm ???

converse ones I'd buy yes I know I'm probably boring.

more DC ones

and more

These are the ones I like for summer but don't think this link will work here

lazarou · 26/02/2008 22:31

I've got some like that with a different pattern. They are exactly the same make and shape. I have found they are slightly tight and they rub the backs of my feet unless I wear a blister pad. They make your feet look small as well, but I like that look.

PeachesMcLean · 26/02/2008 22:32

I probably didn't mean ballet pumps. They're all called "daps" down here in South Wales. "summer daps" (pumps?) and "winter daps" (laces)

controlfreakyagain · 26/02/2008 22:35

not with anything. sorry.

PeachesMcLean · 26/02/2008 22:52

Maybe not then

Bodkin · 27/02/2008 20:44

They make your feet look small Lazarou? Ye Gads, I must have them - I have feet like Dutch barges

Peaches, I thank you for your hard work on my behalf, tis truly appreciated. Think they might all be a bit dark for me though, I like a light coloured trainer with jeans for some random reason.

Yeah, I might just go for them.

Thanks all

at your pink hunters Lapin!

I think the ones you linked to are a bit "trainery" for me - I don't intend to do anything remotely sporty in them

Yeah, come on Dippydeedoo, lets get 'em...!
