Do you vary your moisturiser?

A friend recently said you need to shock your face by varying your moisturiser. I have always used Kiehls ultra but I'm wondering whether I'm missing a trick?

For brightening I think vitamin C and glycolic acid are the most used active principles.
Read up on skin routines, then look up active principles (which can be mixed, how they should be used and when), then look individual products and don't forget SPF50 every single day.
I have a million different things but I never use everything in one go. I just can't be bothered with a gazillion different steps.
The basic: you clean at night and use sunscreen in the morning. The rest are add-ons: vitamin C serum or cream in the morning (usually it's in the morning for this vit) and a glycolic acid toner or washer in the evening. The occasional mask or ampoule can be added.
You start small and then you add things to see how the skin likes it and then you pick and choose depending on your skin feels that day (or whether you can bothered).
It's better to go with fewer products but better than loads of so-so stuff that just overload the skin. More expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. I love supermarket face sunscreen but my skin really dislikes some of the more expensive stuff (and bloody shows it)!
