Soft play/Toddler safe outfits please

Went to soft play today with a friend and DD2. Friend (very kindly) pointed out I look a ‘bit of a state at these type of places’-was wearing Levi fitted black joggers and a slightly shrunken white T-shirt with chunky Nike cream trainers. I’m 40, 5 2” and an hourglass shape size 10. I thought I looked ok! 😂
Any suggestions please? I don’t like jeans at the moment as they feel too restrictive on bits/belly/thighs!

Doesn't sound that friendly. What you were wearing doesn't sound that bad...

Slightly shrunken? Still fits or should be binned?

Do you need to go in the frames with your DD? If so, that does limit what would be suitable somewhat

It's a toddler play area,.not a fashion show!

My suggestion would be to bin your friend...

You're going to soft play. The place that's full of snot and whatever virus is floating around this week.

(I like dungarees/jumpsuits!)

I don't think joggers should be work anywhere but a gym or as lounge wear at home. Especially with trainers.

No one cares what people wear to soft play. It definitely isn't a fashion show! I'd say your friend was actually being a bit of a bitch

Echobelly · 28/07/2023 22:35

What are you supposed to look like at a soft play? I'm not aware it was a fashion parade!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 28/07/2023 22:35

What else are you supposed to wear to crawl around a structure designed for people half your size with potential puddles of piss or vomit at every corner and a multitude of hazards/obstacles in the form of small flailing children who aren't looking where they're going?

I wear joggers or leggings, a long tshirt and if it's cold, a hoodie.

What the hell! Unless you had massive stains on your clothes then your ‘friend’ should butt out. I tend to wear comfy jeans and a loose t-shirt for comfort but what you wore sounds fine!

RockAndRollerskate · 28/07/2023 22:37

Your friend sounds like a right knob. Sounds like a lovely outfit.

I tend to go stretchy jeans and a long sleeve top, but that’s also because it’s what I wear constantly…

UrsulaIsMyQueen · 28/07/2023 22:38

Eh? I’ve got 3 children. I have been to a lot of soft plays. I cannot see what was wrong with your outfit, or why on earth your friend would mention it. What was she wearing?

I don't think joggers should be work anywhere but a gym or as lounge wear at home. Especially with trainers.

Why? Who does it affect?

Totalwasteofpaper · 28/07/2023 22:43

Another vote for bin the friend.

Sounds totally standard attire for my vaguely fancy london suburb.

fleur89 · 28/07/2023 22:46

Doesn't matter what you wear. I tend to dress pretty smart (personal preference, have always done so) and feel out of place / judged at soft play etc. for doing so. But still continue to wear what I prefer to wear. I'd say what you describe looks more normal / in place than what I wear tbh. Doesn't matter either way.

decaffonlypls · 28/07/2023 23:38

It sounds comfortable and practical. I'd be reconsidering how good a friend she/he is
