Skincare recommendations for combination skin

My routine is very minimal - facial wipes before bed and Simple foaming face wash in the shower in the morning, followed by a light gel moisturiser (currently Body Shop Vit A).

I'm nearly 50 and looking to up my game a bit - night cream, serum, that kind of thing. Any recommendations? Not too expensive preferably. Thank you! Flowers

Maybe replace the wipes with something more green but still easy to use like a makeup remover or a cleanser you can wash off (it'll also be cheaper and your skin should look better as wipes work more superficially imho).
My combination skin loves Clinique (I use the step 1 daily when I'm using Clinique and then the alcohol one when I have spots, don't love the gel tbh) and French brands like Vichy, La Roche Posay, Uriage and Avène. Just pick and choose what you feel your skin needs. Embryoliss is great too. I tend to pick and choose products to suit me tbh, rather than sticking to just one brand.
For a splurge Shiseido is what my skin loves, I'm never disappointed.
If you don't mind it being hit and miss at first till you find "your thing" I love South Korean and Japanese brands in general. I find them a LOT cheaper and I get amazing results, the thing is it's a blind order at first so you really need to look up info before going for it. If you're into skincare and have the time look up their active principles. Asians are usually one step ahead. They do fab sunscreen too (avoid the whitening ones if you have sensitive skin or eyes).

If you want a fab serum try the Asian ones first. They'll set the bar.

Niacinamide and hyalauronic acid from the Ordinary.

Niacinamide is hit or miss. Brilliant when it works but a lot of people react. Keep your eyes open if your skin goes dodgy after a while.
I love the hyaluronic acid lotion from HadaLabo.
Be careful when mixing active principles. You can't mix certain things (I think niacimide falls into this category). Other things you need to add SPF50 daily and a week after you've used it.
One more posh brand: Skinceuticals. Another French brand for you to try ROC.

Thanks for your replies, I'll have a google.
