Fluffy hair!

I have short, wavy, greying hair. It's quite fine and I've never found a conditioner that suits it. Am wondering if there's some sort of oil I could use after drying, just to reduce the puffy poodle effect?

Have you ever tried colouring it OP? If you have then you might know that L'oreal Excellence has a small bottle of conditioner in the box which is the best conditioner I have ever had the pleasure of using and you can buy it on eBay. It calms the hair without making it greasy which is what oil will do.

Moroccan Argan oil is very good for this. It comes in a dark brown bottle with a teal label. You can order it on Amazon. It doesn't weigh down the hair like other oils.

I found the merwaves oil excellent, if pricey. The wavy girl method has taught me that if wavy hair is fluffy, it's often over moisturised and needs protein- this after a lifetime of calling my fluff 'frizz' and thinking it needed more moisture!

I use Garnier leave in conditioner. Can use on wet or dry hair smells great. There’s a coconut one too.
About £6.99 in Boots often on offer. Cheaper on Amazon and some supermarkets.

Thanks everyone! I realised I had a John Lewis voucher so have bought some Liz Earle hair oil to try and will report back. I used to use Moroccan oil all the time but had forgotten all about it!

But @Soggytoothbrush needs to come right back and explain her witchcraft in detail to us.

hobbledyhoy · 26/07/2023 22:10

@Soggytoothbrush come back and tell us your secrets!!

continentallentil · 26/07/2023 22:15

But I think you might also need something to shape and define your waves op, and an oil isn’t enough to do that. Bumble styling crème is good but there are many

Then I use Larry Kings a social life for your hair to further define it if it puffs up later, again there are lots of products for this.

@Soggytoothbrush I also want to here more about this COME BACk HAIR WITCH LADY

Ah! the pressure!!
Have a photo- I'm terrible at explaining!

Fluffy hair!
hobbledyhoy · 28/07/2023 23:06

Thank you @Soggytoothbrush
This seems much more involved than I imagined and I'm not sure where I would find protein for my hair but I shall look!

Goodwitch9 · 04/08/2023 12:02

Just came back on here to say that the Liz Earle oil is working well! I use a couple of drops on wet hair before blowdrying or if I'm letting my hair dry naturally I use a couple of drops afterwards. Definitely calms down the fluff and also smells nice, sort of rosemary scent.
