Anine Bing blazer - worth it?

I'm considering treating myself to a high quality blazer which I can love and keep forever. I like the boxy/oversized look, and this Anine Bing one appeals. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the brand? Or if there is another they would recommend?

Also I welcome thoughts on colour! I am a messy individual so anything light is a no-go. I don't gravitate towards brights, so probably wouldn't get the use out of something vibrant. So that leaves me with darker toned neutrals - black, camel, slate, olive green, and checks/herringbone.

Ohh love the colour. It’s enough of a neutral that it would go with lots of different colours but it’s a bit more interesting than camel, black, navy etc.

The only thing that would put me off are the shoulders - shape looks slightly off. Maybe that’s intentional and you’d be happy with it or maybe it’s just the way it looks in the photos and would be different on. I think it’s oversized so that’s probably it as well.

I’ve got a Max Mara blazer in a tweedy material, which is lovely and gets worn a lot so definitely think it’s worth investing in a blazer.

I’d be tempted to look at Net a Porter, Outnet, Flannels, Liberty etc if you haven’t already. Or go somewhere you can try on a few if poss to check out the fits, material, etc.

Lovely blazer. I’ve heard lots of good things about this designer. Have you tried Frankie? They are known for their oversized jackets in neutral colours.

Correct name is The Frankie Shop

I love Anine Bing but their blazers run very big and the shoulders can almost be too much. The quality is excellent though and I love how they are classics with an up to date twist. Just something you really do need to try on. That color is perfect though!

I know I need to look at Net-A-Porter or Farfetch or something but the selection is overwhelmingly large!! I will definitely have a look at The Frankie Shop and Max Mara.

Good to know this brand is good quality, but you are right that I do really need to try one on. I like the oversized look, but with structured shoulders the proportions can easily look overwhelming.

I'm so conflicted on colour, I love it, the right balance of interesting and not too much, and it would definitely work with denim, blacks, and whites. And there's a big part of me that thinks I don't want the blazer to feel boring. But I would be restricted on other colours, I'm currently loving the look of tailored trousers and am wearing these brown and these grey alot, and I don't think either would work with the olive green?

Even if you pick a very neutral colour, the cut, tailoring and quality of the fabric will elevate it and you can add other clothing/accessories/colours/trend pieces to jazz it up. It needn’t look boring but could be a useful beautiful wardrobe workhorse item you can wear over many years.
