Is StitchFix Worth It

Hi, I’ve just come across stitchfix online, has anyone used it? What do you think? I had a baby recently and have been feeling a bit grumpy but I don’t have the patience to trawl the high street so this seems like a prefect solution.
I was just wondering what peoples opinions of it was before I signed up.

Thanks

Hi, I used Stitchfix for 6 months and it was hit and miss. Didn't feel like I was "heard", and ended up returning most of what came in a box. You're better off going on ASOS or Shopbop and choosing clothes that you like.

gloov · 21/07/2023 21:25

I found it to be quite shit. Just sent me massive cardies, breton tops and skinny jeans like it's 2010. I'll just tuck my skinnies into my Uggs and pop Coldplay on my iPod shall I.

TheOGCCL · 21/07/2023 21:25

There’s a few threads about Stitch Fix with lots of views. Personally I think it’s good for people who haven’t got time to shop or don’t like shopping (like my bf), it offers safe, classic clothing for reasonable prices.

Lonecatwithkitten · 21/07/2023 21:27

Tried both stitch fix and lookerio. Stitch fix just kept sending similar stuff. Lookerio sends all kinds of things all European brands - much prefer it.

Cyclingmummy1 · 21/07/2023 21:28

I tried it and kept two of the five items. They sent blue jeans which I'd specifically said I didn't want and I'd picked the other two items from the initial selection of ten but didn't like them. It was painless to send them back.

I'd suggest doing the daily fix for a couple of weeks before ordering as my 'personal' style section on there is now quite accurate, if a little repetitive. I've got a code for £15 credit if you'd like it (I get credit as well), and if you've Amex, they sometimes do a money back deal. I think mine was £20 which meant I got a Hobbs top and stitchfix own brand skirt for about £35.

What is the daily fix?

MelonsOnSaleAgain · 21/07/2023 22:19

My first one was spot on. Second one so so. Third one I returned everything, they just ignored what I asked for. So I stopped and just buy in store or online as usual.

elderflowerandpomelo · 21/07/2023 22:21

Rubbish quality clothes sadly

Motorina · 21/07/2023 22:41

Customer service is great. Ordering and returning work smoothly.

The clothes are a bit crap and very expensive for what they are.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 21/07/2023 22:44

Expensive, boring clothes that were nothing like my normal style, despite doing the daily quiz thing. I never kept one item.

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 21/07/2023 22:48

Quality isn’t great for what you pay. I ended up with a jacket that I stupidly took the label off before checking the price so couldn’t return it. Jacket was definitely not worth £75!

Rufffles · 21/07/2023 22:48

For me, Stitchfix was fab for the first 2-3 boxes and I bought almost everything. Dead chuffed.

The quality / matching to my preferences then dwindled and eventually it got to the point where the clothes they sent were in direct conflict with what I'd specified ("I never wear black next to my face so please don't sent any more black tops" = received black top in next fix).

I've now cancelled and can't see myself resubscribing...

sugarkillingme · 21/07/2023 22:51

First one I kept it all despite not liking one item because they give a discount if you buy the lot which made the unwanted item quite cheap and it's ok for work.

Second box total miss. Seems they want to dress me like a nineties office worker.

LadyAstor · 21/07/2023 23:06

Weird labels you've never heard of.

Old fashioned styles.

Odd, unflattering cuts.

Obsessed with separates.

SoberCurious2 · 21/07/2023 23:46

I found it crap tbh. The clothes were poor quality but v expensive and they didn't pay any attention to the colours I'd asked them for or to avoid. I got something like 4 out of 5 items all navy in the middle of summer one time. I did get a cute dress but it was so expensive and it fell apart after a few washes. It's a shame as I quite liked the things I saw in the ads, but didn't like what they sent at all

Northern12345 · 21/07/2023 23:59

I found if you’re really specific on what you want, or specify an occasion they're great. I’ve got some great jump suits and summer dresses from there. Just be brutal on saying why you don’t like something and it all goes on your style profile. The daily thing is saying if you like different clothes or not, so helps them build up your style. I’ve found the fixes got more tailored to me the more I’ve got. Also with Halifax you can currently get cash back on any stitch fix purchase. If anyone wants £15 credit, here’s my code https://www.stitchfix.co.uk/invite/bhhtrf5rmg?utm_campaign=InviteReferral&sod=i&som=c

I've had quite a few boxes and find they either really hit the brief well or totally miss the mark. I've either kept the lot, or sent the lot back. I've not had any issues with the quality of the tops other than a tencel tshirt that shrunk, but I do think its more expansive than if you could go out to the shop yourself. It's good if you don't have time to go out shopping and enough money to pay £30 for a top.

modgepodge · 22/07/2023 08:50

I have been using it over 2 years and have (obviously) generally found it quite good. Only once I returned everything and that was partly just that I was poor that month and probably should have delayed the delivery! Two or three times I’ve kept everything.

you have to type what you actually are looking for, this is read and adjustments made. I mention price every month and after a few they started sending me cheaper bits as I requested.

they do send things I wouldn’t usually wear but for me that was part of the point, to try new things. Various things I’ve thought ‘oh I’d never try that on’ but actually ended up liking it and getting loads of compliments.

I’ve found them spot on with sizing, very very rarely have I sent anything back for being the wrong size.

dontgobaconmyheart · 22/07/2023 09:24

I dud it once some time ago so it may have improved but I thought it was laughably poor.

I wouldn't have wanted to wear anything they sent and felt the styles were very dated. They sent lots of things from their own line which seemed to not be the best quality (h&m, primark equivalent) and then some items that were nothing special from brands I recognised but that cost a small fortune - more than I would want to spend on the type of item and more than I'd said I wanted to spend when I did the quiz.

In fairness I think if you're very particular about what you wear then I really can't see how it would work or how they'd get it right first time but might be a better process for those that feel clueless or are happy to be guided over time, or are just curious even.
